Too bad it's a relatively poor game and a massive departure from the original Quake1 mod...

HEXEN edit: I have to buy TF2 to see what the fuss is about (I have a friend who still plays it religiously but I've not touched it yet)

Too bad it's a relatively poor game and a massive departure from the original Quake1 mod... HERETIC her·e·tic Pronunciation: \ˈher-ə-ˌtik, ˈhe-rə-\ Function: noun Date: 14th century 1: a dissenter from established religious dogma ; especially : a baptized member of the Roman Catholic Church who disavows a revealed truth 2: one who dissents from an accepted belief or doctrine Hmmm... If the original Quake1 mod was the established... ah... 'dogma', then doesn't that make the rest of the world heretical? On the other hand, if the accepted belief or doctrine is now TF2... Am I heretic now?!?! PS, I still think the original was the best TeamFort release!

You are a heretic among heretics, then.

I haven't played the original, but I love Team Fortress 2. I've played it quite a lot since I got it (and a computer that can run it).

Everything but the browser runs fine for me, and you can use a regular browser to do everything for that. I kinda like the game management thing, seems to work fine and you don't have to bother manually downloading updates or keeping track of disks.

Too bad it's a relatively poor game and a massive departure from the original Quake1 mod... One of these statements is true. The other is most definitely false. Oh, how I <3 TF2. BTW, new update: Engineers' teleporters and dispensers can now be upgraded (to level 3), Demoman sticky bombs can be destroyed by shooting them with hitscan weapons (anything that fires bullets, ex: shotgun, sniper rifle, pistols), Spies can refill cloak by picking up ammo boxes (god yes! Plus now backstabbing someone refills half your cloak (because you pick up the weapon they drop) and dispensers/cabinets refill it too), and they fixed the first cap of GoldRush being too easy for the Red team.

Yeah, you know, I really quite like Steam.
I've picked up a lot of great old games re-released over Steam for very cheap, and it's all kinds of convenient. While I understand that if the servers go down some day I may lose my games, I am terrible at keeping track of small objects, and have already lost more game CDs than I can count, so if anything I've been better at retaining games through my Steam account than actual, physical copies.

I can regiter trough the client, but not in the website, and from what I've seen, I need to enter the site for downloading or buying.

You don't. And your registry via the client should work with the site anyways.

You can run one of those unoffical clients that allow to play steam games without an internet connection. That's how I play HL2.
