@Delicious: The only time's I've seen anyone complain about Pixeljoint's rules on what is NPA is when it involves a transparent menu or shadows. I really don't see what the problem is with those. Granted, he should have submitted a piece with more uncovered pixels, but its not like the effect tries to be anything more than an overlay, it doesnt change the fact the pixels were all still handplaced.

idk, its just something I've never understood about PJ's rules, as it's a very gamey thing to do and most pixel art is gamey

That makes me stupid then, cause I was the one who sent it back for revision! D':

It's just the rules dont allow any transparencies which I think is respectable because Pixeljoint only wants pure pixel by pixel pieces to avoid becoming like Deviantart and their horrible standard of what pixel art is. We aren't Nazies! Regardless, it's a very good piece, and I hope you'd make the blue solid and submit it again. Smiley
nah I totally understand. I wasn't complaining about their rules or anything. I resubmitted it just now but this time it's just the tileset instead of the mockup.

also thanks for all the kind words everyone!

For a competition on another forum to make a screenshot of the 'ultimate game' which must feature fire, a turtle shell, and a ladybird. Not for an actual game, though I imagine it could be pretty fun to play (I don't have much time at the moment).

Excuse the shoddy art; I didn't want to spend ages polishing it Sad

I see what you mean, however it's to avoid other complications such as light opacity brushes and other evil filters. It's just best to have purely hand placed pixels, regardless of how well the piece is.

I'm glad. Smiley

Sorry for the off-topic-ness, I'll stop now! Keep up the awesome mockups. Smiley
