architekt and a few others were wanting to see firsthand how I made the jets in my google sketchup mock-ups so here's a speed vid to get you an idea of how screwed up my method is (yes, I was building it upside down for a little while)
Here we go,
hurr, cant figure out how to embed video... Yep, that right there is why I don't code much.

Here's another! Aircraft carrier! Comments suggestions welcome!
audio may be temporarily flankered due to the RIAA being butt-hurt. It'll be on in a bit. Hum to yourself while watching for full effect in the meantime

Woah. This is like the best Sketchup model ever. The most I could do were houses. Houses.

uneventful days lead to me making lots of these things. I tried to make a two-engine jet just now but oh man..
Is it common to run the risk of turning a plane/car/ship/building into a penis? Nah, I'm probably just twelve years old still, or gay and don't know it yet.
damn, nobody tells me anything.

I love that explosion. What technique(s) did you use to create it? It looks like something you'd paint by hand in an app like Flash or Illustrator, but the rest of your art assets are 3D, so I'm curious.

Looks like several planes set at right angle. It's flat but it's 3D

Still in sketchup, no textures allowed! I started off by drawing out a large flat square then used the freehand tool to create a series of clouds, lines and spikey boomie stuff. I erased the edges of the square, then flood-filled the sectioned off clouds. I then copied the explosion shape, rotated it 90 degrees vertical, intersected it with the horizontal one and made it always face the camera. The only problem with this is that I can't get the colors to behave like fullbrights. So even when i make them not cast/recieve shadows, they're still giving off a depth effect in their shading. (note close to the epicenter of the explosion. 2 shades of orange)

This one's a thriller! Grab your slimjims and beer because I'm about to rock your face off, then pick it up off the floor and rock it some more.
(then ill give it back)

Making models is so easy when you don't have 3-view and a bunch of rivet-counters telling you that you've missed an aerial... And I suppose KMDFM helps you too Hmm.. guess I'll have to try this GS
