I'm not sure I like the death animation. Feels like chips of wood flying around rather than a suit. Maybe have the actual sprite breaking up, with the helmet and stuff flying away? Perhaps a release of energy particles as well.

I like the death animation, but I agree that having some variety in the pieces flying around should make it look better.

The original idea was to have a beefy particle effect going on, so maybe I should change the current particles into rubble/'energy' of sorts and then just have 5-6 recognizable pieces of the suit flying along with the rest?

As I predicted, I've been really really busy the past week, and been working on our university's musical project about 12 hours every day. However, today I've had some time to work on the game, and there're only 2 rooms left to be done before I get to work on the next boss! Joyous.

How do you make your .gif's? looks cool

I use Camstudio for recording, and then just edit the resulting .avi in a gif editor, saving it as a gif afterwards.

The next boss is almost done!

Also I'll soon start working on adding parallax background scrolling in; there are some areas that'll really benefit from it.

From all the gifs most of the time you are getting hit by bosses, I was wondering, is there anyway to dodge enemies and bosses, like in Metroid. And also how does health work.
