The theme will be either Colossal OR Roads OR whatever wins today. Tomorrow's vote will be between those three choices. No, the final voting round will be between the top five of each round. So there'll be 15 choices, not 3. Anyway, I've been participating regularly in these since LD7 (though I aborted for #12), so I'm planning on entering this one too.

I think the shorter a competition is, the better. I don't know for others, but if I get much time to design and develop the game, I usually get bored(Although this is most likely because I can use just GM, MMF or Construct ) I would really want to see Decay or Colossal to be the chosen themes; both of them look... devastating.

is there any way to see what the theme will be? I think it could be interesting to join this.

It is being voted on right now -- it'll be one of the ones in dock's list, announced when the competition starts. The idea is that way you don't start until the official start of the competition because you don't know what to work on before then ... That, or you do this: http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/2008/12/04/readiness/

I'm really hoping I don't bite off more than I can chew with this. I need to think of super simple games! D:

Ha!
I've never made a simple game. but the last four projects I've started all began with me saying, "This so simple- it can't possibly take longer than a few days."

I might have to 'resort' to 2D, depending upon what the theme is. I'm still aiming to do 3D though, and I'll try to think up some simple game designs today. Awesome, there is an LD13 thread. You rule Dock. :D Haha. XD I was showing Towlr to some guy today who scoffed with 'two hours to make this? This is five minutes work, max'. I told him that there was 48 hours for the contest, and that he should do something better this weekend. He then said that he didn't have the time this weekend... heh.

So do I. It's why I love the Klik of the Month.

Hmm, depending on what turns out to be the theme of the compo and depending on what comes up for me this weekend I might give this a go afterall. Because, I really need to get an actual game out sometime.

agj, that two hour Klik compo seems like a great idea. Is it themed? I just spent my lunchtime doodling ideas on paper for a few of the LD48 finalist themes, as per Sol's LD survival guide. I'm starting to feel better about the contest in general. I'm going to get up super early tomorrow and try to get a playable version of my game nailed by the end of tomorrow. So, tonight, I need to stock up on food and drink! ^o^

It's not, though some special group ideas seem to come up every now and then.

Less than an hour 'till it starts! Please ensure your loins are sufficiently girded.
