I have been waiting for this moment my WHOLE LIFE.

In the old days, getting a virus just took a couple of wrong clicks in a crack's website. What happened to the good old days?

I'm a bit confused that everybody seems to get what this thread is about. Because I don't.

I don't think quality is a way to measure how good an indie game is.

It's the amount of love that makes a game. And both games have massive amounts of love, so come on.

Actually, I agree with Don Andy. I just finished the game, and Holy Shit. It was really, really good.

This game makes me feel soooooooooo guilty.  Why?  Because it's the first game that I've stopped playing simply because of the graphics.  Sad

I love the music, and the gameplay (at least what I saw in the trailer, and heard about in Derek's writeup) sounds really good too.  The intro story was fine enough, but I just couldn't bring myself past those graphics.  What's even worse about this is that I probably can't even make graphics of that level myself, and yet I'm still being critical.  Sad

I'm sorry Iji, I really am...  Cry

Yeah, I've seen the screenshot on the main page and this graphic "style" was real show-stopper for me, I didn't even bother trying it.
Now, I might try it because of what you guys have said but srsly.

Graphics are very far from state-of-the-art, but not everybody has a skilled pixeler available to them, and to expect every good freeware game to have awesome graphics is a bit much.

Just try playing it and you'll see there's a lot to like if you keep an open mind about things. It's really well polished and I imagine the author isn't really a great artist but tried his best with the graphics.

But I did try playing it!

Admittedly, my classes are keeping me super busy at the moment (so I had one non-graphics reason to quit), and were this Christmas holidays or something, I probably would have kept playing.  Maybe I'll go back to it in a few months, we'll see.

I just feel really bad because this is the first game I stopped playing because of the graphics.  And I agree with you completely Melly, that's why I feel so bad   Cry

Hum, I agree that the graphics aren't exactly top-notch, but I figured the author went more for style than for cutting-edge graphics, like imitating Another World/Flashback a bit. Besides, the animations are super-smoothly animated, so I was really impressed by everything. It even had something a bit vector-ish about it.

I think the only, and really only, gripes I have with the game is that I keep hitting C to jump and that I can't shoot/kick while jumping :D
