Merry xmas eve guys. I've been working on some background art for my third game Blitz Meet and thought it would be fun to get some of the community involved with a competition.

Compo Rules

-Make a 64x164 medieval flag using these 4 colors. I'm working with a 16 color palette in-game and these colors are darker and desaturated because they will be in the background

Here's an example of a simple one I did

-Only 1 submission per person.

-At the end of the compo I'll pick the best 3 flags to immortalize in the game. I'll get your name in the credits also.

If you are interested in submitting a flag please rsvp a post with a red header saying "I'm in" or something so I get a feel for who's interested. Feel free to put up work in progress flags. I will pick the best 3 flags on Sunday January 8th and announce the winners.

Blitz Meet should be done sometime between January and February 2012.

Looking forward to see what you guys come up with!

I'm in, working on one now.
Edit:
Finished~

It's not great.
Would you prefer flags following the style you have in that first pic? Also, should I make it frayed around the edges?

Nice! Whatever style is fine as long as it meets the size and color specifications. Having it frayed a bit like my example would be nice but I'm more concerned about the design itself. I can always go back and add a few touches of age on them.  Smiley

Sorry for the real "Meh" quality of it, I did it over a half hour or so on my work comp so I only had paint Cry .  Its yours to destroy however you see fit.

I saw your Devlog and love the look so far, so I decided to have a throw at the flag for you as well!  I went and snagged the lion statue you did in the other thread's face so it at least co-ordinates.

Enjoy!

Haha rad! I was going to scrap that lion statue completely but this is too cool.

Edit: I'm removing the [2012] tag because I just realized it was for another compo. I thought that people were just putting that on their topics to show that it was current.

Looking back I sucked at the edge weathering, so I'll leave that up to you to fix haha.

Here's a huge ss with some of the flags! They'll eventually be suspended by rope and swing a bit as the game goes on. I'm stoked to have you guys part of the game   Toast Right

Yep, still very lossy.
Two things:
One- Save in .png format.
Two- Don't use mspaint for pixel art.

@Jerom - very nice!

I'll be releasing the demo/beta of Blitz Meet sometime today guys so keep an eye out for my devlog and make sure to have a buddy present to play it with. My roommates and I were having a blast with it last night. Thanks again for the support!
