I'm loving it already. Been too long since I've played a good jrpg.

Enjoyed the trailer. Feels as though a short sequence showing of the combat would help.

Hey guys Smiley

The KickStarter has been up for less than 2 days, now 5% funded.

The Steam Greenlight campaign is really successful, currently #80, 755 Yes votes (70%), after less than 2 days.

The game was featured on Siliconera! Here's the post:

Light Fairytale has been Greenlit! After only 14 days, much faster than Super Night Riders (117 days) and with much more Yes votes and followers!

Here's a comparison screenshot from the Greenlight report, both on the Greenlit day:

The playable demo has been downloaded about 3000 times! Available on GameJolt and itch.io.

The KickStarter is currently 22% funded, with 10 days to go. The campaign is slowing down, hopefully it will goes up on the last days, but it will really need more press coverage to succeed.

Hi everyone Smiley

The KickStarter campaign has ended at around 27% of the goal. Unfortunately the game wasn't funded, but I still plan to continue with the development.

I'm currently working on remaking all the initial locations, that you might have seen in the released playable demo. Here's a screenshot:

Working on the first city you'll explore in the game. Here's a WIP screenshot:

Here's a screenshot from the new opening I've been working on:

Bonus, here's an animation of Kuroko that I've made in the same style as the Tales of series skits. This is just for fun and won't be used in the game:

How big are you planing the game to be and how much time are you estimating to work on it? Just asking cause you seem to have a pretty big scope there.

That's the reason it will be released in an episodic format. I'm planning 3 episodes, the first one for around mid next year.

Now that Super Night Riders is updated on Steam, and soon on Xbox One (I've sent the update to Microsoft, currently waiting for certification), I've restarted working on Light Fairytale.

Here's a shot from the location I've been working on:

Made a short gameplay video to showcase how the game looks now - this scene was in the previously released demo.

Hey everyone Smiley

I'm currently considering Steam's Early Access for Light Fairytale. Basically, it would be 50% of the content available 6 months before the full launch.

Any of you guys have an experience with EA? Would you recommend it?

I think that EA would not only give me more funds to complete the game, but also valuable early feedback, and sales expectations for the full game.

Thoughts? Wink

From what I've seen, the common saying applies: "individual results will vary".  Some do well, other not so much.

Since you have a reasonable follower/fan base (Newsletter, Twitter, Kickstarter, etc) then I'd say your chance is much better to do well.  Of course, the proof is in the pudding, so you'll just have to try and see. Wink

I guess I will continue with the development and when half of the game will be complete, I'll decide if it is good enough to be worth an Early Access. The danger is that EA might be the real launch in term of press coverage and YouTubers, so that first half part of the game will need to be perfect.

Anyway, here's a new video of the game. This is a remake of the last part of the opening cut-scene:

Everything feels very JRPG-ish.

The song seems a little off thought. It's a very nice song, really sounds like something from a PSX-era JRPG but it's feels a little weird in that dark cyberpunk environment.

Actually, this song is the theme of Kuroko, the girl with black short hair. The music with switch to the location theme when they will separate bit later.
