None of you guys have to thank me for linking these games, I should thank you for making them  Gentleman

member on here reminded me about Sophie Houlden's Bunnies of Fury 2 which recently got featured on ByteJacker? It started out as some test called Sophie Craft and changed into .... whatever it is now. Other than building stuff, the only thing to do is to blow it up, which is quite fun for a few minutes. I wonder what plans she has for this, if any.

Ludum Dare is slowly wrapping up, with jam games sure to trickle in. Surely there will be a few Unity games, but right now I've only played Fib by Sophie Houlden (yes a double post with another sophie game). A really cool puzzle game where you use lying and gossiping to coerce various people to help you solve puzzles. A little tedious at first, but it's such a cool concept that I can forgive it.

you can play it at her site hereor check the ludum dare entry page here includes the source code

I'll post any other good unity games with web builds as I find/play them

This kinda looks like Minecraft, though I haven't really played Minecraft myself. Reminds me of the videos and pictures of it.

Played the spelunker game, really awesome mechanic.  This is the kind of creative indie game I love to see.  It does get frustrating at a few points due to the touchiness of the controls in the Unity Plugin, but I managed to beat it.  Hopefully unity can adress the lag and performance issues in the future, as the games coming out are quite impressive.

I didn't recall any performance issues. Anyway the source of the lag and/or performance issues are up to the developer and not Unity specifically.

Not a game, but still interesting: Tale of Tale's released a free web version of their spiritual toy Vanitas the link is on the left hand side saying "Try Free Web Version".

If you close it, your progress is saved so you could return to it later if you want.

Vector by JM Games

side-scrolling archery platformer. The platforming is a bit painful due to the low gravity and slow movement speed, but the archery shooting mechanics is so smooth that it makes up for it. Levels 6 and 7 are a complete bummer since a lot of the targets are off-screen, leading to a lot of guess work. I'd love to see this expanded on with better level design. It's really fun to jump around and shoot targets with the arrow. edit: apparently if you press shift you can pan the camera, woops.

Proto Bat-Bot a (Warner Bros) licensed game by Sticky Studios

a 3d action shooter with very good visuals. few problems I had is that enemies seem very small and the interface is weird. no option to change mouse sensitivity or fullscreen sucks though. enemie AI is a bit dumb at times, and will sometimes just stare at you until you attack them. customizable mech is kinda cool, but a bit limited.

New first person puzzle game by GenericUser called Star Wanderer, thread here: http://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=14736.msg426950

Very cool but a tad unpolished in graphics and presentation, but I still enjoyed it very much.

Next game is called Fail-Deadly made for LD18 (and it won), an RTS game where you are part of an evil shadow organization who manipulates both sides of the war. Your goal is to ensure destruction of both the armies. Basically you try to keep each team from destroying their base until the nuke timer goes off, then they are both destroyed by each other. Highly suggest reading the "how to play" section on the game's title screen.

here's a link to the web build and click here for the LD page.

This next game was 10th in the overall LD18 placement, but I didn't really enjoy it as much because it was very similar to the other games (trick enemies into following and killing you). Still an alright game though:

Fail Deadly is great. What a simple yet addictive concept. I'm also amazed that was made in unity, first properly 2d game i've seen built in it.

There's been a few, I linked to Tumbledrop and Every Man is an Island, hell is other people, shoot stop lollipop..etc which are all 2d. 2d games in unity are just textured planes so it's not what some would consider "true 2d". 2d is already quite difficult to do in Unity. And according to Alec's sneak peak of Unity 3, you won't be able to use the default Unity plane because it's full of quads and two-sided so you'll have to import your own plane.

I feel totally BAD for not posting two great games by Vasily Zotov (Quite Soulless)
first is Space Spy
second is Refugee - The Second Hearing
it's hard to explain, so I'm going to give you the description of these games from Vasily himself:
Quote from: WHAT IS IT?
The object/time management ADVENTURE game. How to play is below. I believe this is a new GENRE, if I am not right, tell me, I will write that this is old.
the games are quite large and may run better if you download the standalone versions, although I had troubles with neither of the web builds

Tank Zone - by Starscene Software (aka Eric5h5, really productive/helpful member of the unity community)
very interesting battle zone-like game, made to showcase his Vectrosity line-drawing package for unity. I remember playing battle zone a lot on the atari, but I think his game looks more like the original arcade version (which I havent played)

Oh, and Christoffer made a new game called Toys, he posted it in Feedback so check it out and give him some comments.

just gonna edit this next one in:
Was shown on Indie Games blog, just now noticed it was a unity game
Creaky Old Memory is a puzzle game and IndieCade 2010 finalist.

There's a game breaking glitch in Creaky Old Memory where you climb a ladder while it's above a hole and you get stuck in the floor.

Thanks for the heads up, still haven't sat down and gave it a go yet.

Me and a few from IRC just had a few rounds at a new mp shooter called BeGone: http://www.nplay.com/BeGone/

After awhile it got kind of old, due to it being only one map and one weapon. But it's good for a couple of minutes, especially if you have a few friends to play with. Camera can be a bit annoying, but every thing else is well done. The map is very nice, if a bit small, and the graphics are good and the network code was great. No lag, very smooth. Nice interface too.

They have another game called InvinciCar Online, haven't yet tried it though. It's a racing game , with automatic matchmaking (which kinda sucks and is the reason I havent played it yet).
http://www.nplay.com/InvinciCar_Online/

editing this next one in:
this is a game by Pedro Sousa of the unity forums for the Experimental Gameplay project.
http://www.pedroleonardo.com/planet

I am unsure what to make of it. It's definitely interesting, but I think the gravity is a little awkward, it doesn't 'feel' right. Planets look a bit weird and every thing about it is weird. But very interesting.
--
gonna edit one more game in, this is a game by Puppeteer Interactive called War Planes. It's a horizontal dog-fighting shmup, with a third person perspective (kinda like panzer dragoon, I don't know how to properly explain this type of shmup). This is his first game in Unity, and it's pretty cool-decent controls, cool explosions, simple and fun gameplay. Use the mouse to steer the plane and press the left mouse button to shoot (if you click outside the game area it won't register as a shoot, alternatively you can keep holding down the mouse button to avoid this or you can press the ctrl key to fire as well)

Would have posted this earlier but I just now remembered it (due to supershigis post about a game for her boyfriend)

It's called Dinner Love and it's a game a guy made to propose to his girlfriend

web link here:
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/171009/DinnerLove.html

and here's a video of her playing it for the first time:

The game involves a woman going around eating until she meets a guy (and serendipitously discovers that by eating with a guy she gets happier) until they eat enough and eventually get married. Very cute game.

heres a few games from the experimental gameplay project (neverending theme)

http://www.toeofdoom.com/egp/tunnelsofmanyrooms - The Tunnels of Many Rooms

a game by Toeofdoom, explore an endless cavern

http://www.datatragedy.com/fragments.htm

Fragments, a game by XRA. Walk along a strange path to the beacon while avoiding ghosts. Not much in the way of gameplay but I found myself oddly immersed in the world. left click to move forward and right click to jump (you wont need to jump much)

Another game by Pedro Sousa, and this one is much better than his last one.
This one is done for the Boys and Girls in October theme for the Experimental Gameplay Project.

The Kisser-
http://www.pedroleonardo.com/thekisser/

In this game you play as a princess/witch in a watered down tower-defense like game. Press space to switch forms and as a princess, you kiss the frogs to turn them into princes and as a witch you stop the evil monsters from getting to the tower.
To attack- click on your character and pull the mouse back (pretend it's a slingshot) and aim with the mouse to your target. Takes some getting used to but it's pretty easy, but as the game progresses more monsters pop up and they are faster and harder to kill. But all in all, it's very easy and a bit too short. Could have been expanded more certainly. I do really like the graphical style in this one, and his use of Unity 3's built in cloths for the main menu was a pretty nice touch as well.

I also posted about Sophie's Witch game here, which has a free unity web demo.

and santaragione is turning Tales Of Unspoken World into a new one button game called FOTONICA, thread is here with a link to his page to play the web build.

I was going to post this. Incredibly addicting and fun game. Like a first-person Canabalt with abstract graphics.

Another increpare game, called Sunlight. Created for the EGP "Day and Night in November". Walk around, touch cats/toilets/etc.

http://www.increpare.com/2010/11/sunlight/

----------------------

Next is an interesting TD game called Sentinels. Bit different than most, there are multiple paths an enemy will take, depending on the enemy. You place your units on special platforms that look like the tops of buildings(you can't just place them down where you like). The interface is a bit cluttered and messy but it gets the job done.

Play Sentinels here.

----------------------

Lastly Solaro, by AndyKorth is a game in development with a playable demo up. You can check their devlog here.
And play the demo and read more about their game here:
http://howlingmoonsoftware.com/wordpress/?p=510

edit:
Found a neat little space invaders clone in 3d: http://boi.webuda.com/SI3D/index.html
Still plays the same though.
