can someone recommend some stuff about distribution liscenses to me? After a somewhat extensive search on the forums, i couldn't find much. Granted, it might be out there, sorry if it is, point me to it.

If it isn't: all i need is a referral...

Duuuuude... I think you need to make one thread for all your questions.  Because a lot of these are totally not worthy of their own.

In this case, just like your last post, you need to be more specific.  Licenses describe what a user can and can't do with your software... so what you need changes depending on what your intent is.  Are you trying to sell a game?  Are you releasing a game open source?

In any case, n00b questions are fine, but you can't just come in and be like "Can someone tell me how indie games work, kthx" and expect any kind of serious reply.  You gotta do a little thinking / legwork yourself first.

And work on your spelling. Wink

i shall do, and in a couple days, i promise you a new thread will be opened, entitled: "all of icedemon's amateur-ish indie game-making questions" and it will be delivered with such elegance, you'll forget the whole noob issue. and the spelling.  Tongue

thanks though

Sweet, man! Smiley

No problem being a n00b.  We all are/were n00bs at something.  Especially when it comes to being independent game developers, so don't feel bad about asking questions.  But for the forum to be effective, the questions have to be effective.

And yeah, eventually (hopefully) this thread will answer all such questions.

The first newbs were spawned from BMcC's forehead, at which point he crushed them into the earth with his massive fist.

The other fist is somewhat normal sized.
