How appropriate, this weekend I was playing Saturn Bomberman with my brother for the first time and it was fucking amazing. It has a co-op story mode (with pretty cool animu cutscenes), versus mode up to 8 players competing or teaming up against other teams (and I read that the Japanese version actually had online; fucking online on the saturn) and it even has this wacky tower climbing survival mode where bomberman dresses up as goku  |

 I guess the greatness of Arena is debatable, but it is at the very least a pretty important game. I believe that it was originally intended to be an arena combat sort of game rather than an open world RPG. |
