Fired up Homeworld 2 for some classic Tactical Fleet Simulator. Still one of the best space RTS's.

Has anyone here played expansion to Civilization Beyond Earth, "Rising Tide"? I know the original game was kinda bad so I'm curious if the expansion improved it (and if so, how much did it improve). I noticed it's 50% off so I'm curious if it's worth the sale price.

On-topic: Eclipse is coming as a digital release on Steam in 5 hrs and I will probably play it all weekend because I have the board game and it's awesome.

I got 7 Wonders: Duel, the 2 player "little cousin" to 7 Wonders and I have to say I am very pleasantly surprised. This thing is everything I want a quick 2p game to be: Super fast paced (only 1 action per turn), highly competitive and a good balance between strategy and luck.

Dragon Quest 7. I binge on this game for a few days, give it a couple week break, and binge some more. It is a very meaty game with but with a nice relaxing pace.

I've gone back to a bunch of early JRPGs playing a good chunk into them and just kind of re-immersing myself in the genre. Lufia: Rise of the Sinistrals, Phantast Star 1-4, Final Fantasy 1-6, Dragon Quest (any I can get my hands on), etc. Some of them stand the test of time better than others, and a lot of times I am noticing gameplay elements where I am like "That is genius!" and other times I am like "Why!? WHYYYYYYYYYYY!?" (like the ungodly slow walking speed of Lufia & The Fortress of Doom).

It's good fun and a nice learning experience.

i've actually never played the original (yeah yeah i know), but it was on sale on amazon so i ordered it too. we'll see how it stacks up.

unfortunately the upcoming expansion for duel seems kinda lame. it only adds 2 wonders to the base game content and otherwise adds a new mechanic/variant based on gods that replaces guilds with temples to boot. not that variant expansions like that are necessarily a bad thing, but it's weird to do something like that for a first expansion, esp when the base game could reallly use more different building cards.

I just downloaded Rival Fire on my phone after watching a YouTube review of it.  I really like those cover shooters, and I like this game a lot.  But I'm just so bad at aiming with my phone compared to controls I'm used to from PC FPS.  Bad enough that I'm probably going to stop playing the game real soon : (

i picked up the witcher 3 again after seeing a weird surge in related content online. i think it clicked this time, even though the interface is still hard to read on my tv. and the combat sucks but at least it's easy

Started a new XCOM 2 playthrough now that the dlc is out, I enjoy having my soldiers wearing dead aliens. Also WoW Legion of course... Unsubbed from EVE probably for good this time... really!
