I like writing. I'm getting a general portfolio website sorted out, so maybe I'll put stuff up there.

I should warn you, though: sometimes I write poetry WTF

I got a poem printed in a magazine once, actually. I'll have to see if I can find that. They never sent me my cash prize. Angry

I had my heart set on writing when I was younger (18 - early 20s). Wrote a lot of short stories and had 40 - 45,000 words of a novel written about vampires. I got an offer for publication (to keep working on it and polish the writing) from a small publishing house but because I was at the end of a two year 'Professional Writing and Editing' course, my motivational level dropped way down and I didn't really do much about it.

Then I moved out of home and when I finally got a little interest in improving it and continuing it on, I found out my parents has given away the computer with the manuscript on and the guy they gave it to formatted the hard drive. Should've had a backup but.. anyways.. after that pretty much gave up on the 'creative writing' thing. Haven't written a creative piece since.

I write moozak sometimes. Here's part of a song I wrote about everything overused

The princess has been kidnapped
By an evil alien being
I'm just an ordinary kid,
Or that's what it would seem

I'm sent off by some old man,
Says that I'm the Chosen ONe
A day after I start my quest I am already done

So take your bets
The odds are 1 to 3
That party member 2
Will go on a killing spree
Will I win?
Which choice to make
These options now I weigh,
I guess I know the answer since you know,
It's all just a cliche.

I love writing. I've written a few short stories and started some longer bookish ones that never got anywhere, but I've a large collection of poems. I think I'll try and get them published soon.
If I weren't so dead-set on being an animation major, I'd definitely be an English one.

opens gently; life stirs anew.
Let's write, bizatches.

I'm definitely in! What kind of writing should it be limited to? Do we want to have some kind of unusual limitation like in the game compos? I think that would be a good idea.
Maybe a small word limit would be good too.

Proposed rules:
1. No haikus
2. Contains an element shared by all shtories (How about uhhh Cyclops or blindness)
3. No more than 15 lines long (Though that gives poetry an advantage I think...)

I'll judge if I have to, but I'd really rather not. We could have a voting system, though.

Do a word limit rather than a line limit. I think maybe 500, 600 words would be good.  And yes, I think a common element would be a great idea.

Why? I mean, the only reason I could see is changes in resolution.

Speaking of stuff, I write lyrics, and like to write lyrics, but have no instrumental skills. Who wants to do the music for my band? If the planets align and I actually sell an album, you'd get a large cut.

PM me if you're interested.

Line limit? That's definitely a poetry thing. It's hard to define what exactly is and what isn't a line in prose...

But I can post a drabble, I guess:

The bluebird fell off a fencepost and landed on my feet, dead. Shot through the neck by a .22 rifle. I glanced around; a boy was clutching the gun, dancing.

His parents are negligent, he's doomed to drown in a sea of his own stupidity, and I'm in his crossfire. Disadvantage comes in layers.

I want to change the world.

I've watched as the tower rose--

As the curtain fell,

As the seas caught fire,

As the people became radioactive dust.

Presently, I watch the stone I kicked in frustration come to a rest in the center of the road.
