rush battlefury, gives you hp regen and mana sustain
flash farm up that satanic for extra tankiness
then get that blink dagger for initiation.
last build drums cause that extra movement speed is vital after the 60min mark

They never did anything for me. Unlike in games like MTG where I actually cared and was slowly drawn into a story, Dota's attempt at storytelling feels... just lame.

Keep in mind they're working with baggage that is more than ten years old. It's really hard to write a coherent story when you don't get to decide what characters are in it. Riot has a better chance at it, since they're coming up with new characters as they go along, and yet you still get the feeling that most champions are designed with "coolness" first and story relevance second. When they design a champion, they don't start by asking "what is the background for this champion? What is their motivation?" They just say "We want a champion that does these awesome things and looks badass. Try to figure out how it makes sense." |

I get that, I've been casually around since war3 era.
But it's not the story segments themselves that are really bad (though they're not really good either, but they are good enough for their intended purpose (I suppose))
It's the writing that feels uninspired, inconsistent across heroes and just boring. It feels slapped together, and I kinda wonder who does it serve, if anyone.
All of the people I know couldn't care less about the story at all. I guess it's kinda like adding story to chess.
