If I can live with droqen ditching all the games he's ditched, I can live with one more game being stopped.

Heed jason of the pickerings ... just take a break and make a tiny game. Your constraints are that it has to fit in 25x25 pixels ... go!

Haven't played in ages, but I've read most of the discussion since then, and I'm wondering: when did it become slow? That change sucked all the thrill out. Makes mining seem like working a job. It's nice not having to use the mouse though.

Seems I'm beating a dead horse here. Hope you finish it one day!

When you feel like giving up, take some superglue and glue the game onto yourself not to drop it.

Actually, don't. But take a break or work on something else for a while and then come back to it.

It's a really fun game! Hand Joystick

Uuuugh I want to work on any other game but this Tired

Then do it.

The king of abandoned devlogs demands it. (I claim this title only because I assume nobody else wants to.)

I made movement speedier- I feel like I've struck a nice balance between the old and the new.

Thanks for the encouragement and stuff guys, this is still going.

This game reminds me a lot of Solar Jetman from way back in the NES days, and I loved that game!

I think it might play a bit nicer if drilling through the blocks was a smooth action, rather than a brief pause between each one.
The balance of finding the fuel crystals is good! It can get pretty tense at times watching the meter getting lower and lower, but you've got enough little clusters or single bits lying around to keep things running.
Some heavy mechanical noises would add a lot to the game, but am sure you've got enough stuff to worry about at the moment without that right now.

Am looking forward to seeing this keep developing  Smiley

FINAL PUSH
I've decided that I should cut out lots and strip everything down to the bone, and then RELEASE THIS GAME.
First to go: Tools. Only drill and bomb remain. Next: Narrowing it down to only one planet.
Not sure what else to cut out- I'm wondering what I should do about the debt system though.

You can do it!

Just remember, this can be a precursor to a fully fleshed out sequel, you'll get a big boost from public support!

I echo your sentiment Ashkin! The last few steps towards completing a game are agonizing and frustrating...the suggestion by RabidFrog is really good. You could release the stripped down version and release extra feature packs as they get done. Kind of like making a sandwich...the stripped down version is ham'n'cheese, but each additional pack is another slice of ham, eventually ending up in a mile high reuben!

Dinner time here, I've got food on the brain... Good luck completing the game, I've really liked what you've done so far  Gentleman

I agree with the agreement to the suggestion given! If you ever want to make a more in depth sequel, you'll have a ton of support, AND you'll get this game done too! Push it! Smiley

I played the game in first post, not sure what happened but when I whipped up the gun, I couldn't move or put it away even with Z&X berserk button smashing.

I liked it better before, in just about every way. Why are you changing it, especially now at the end.
