I keep seeing his chin(?) as his mouth and it looks like the cigarette is just floating there.

If you can't afford an artist, I suggest adding bloom instead.

This man doesn't need an artist. Kiss
And yeah, the chin/mouth thing is a bit of a problem, I suggest getting rid of the chinmouth altogether. I don't think it adds much.
Or, you could move the cigarette down into the chin mouth. So then it would be a smoking cat with a :V face.

This. Without it, it looks like that line is his mouth.

Ohhhhhhhh... Ok.

Now I see what you were trying to do there, after you explained it.

I also thought the cig was floating.

I'm so glad you're rotoscoping the animations.

It just makes me happy.

awesome idea with the greenscreen, I'd recommend trying to light it more evenly if you can so that there is less off a gradient across it. Will help tons with keying it out (unless that isn't important)

What are you using the green screen for?

i think he's using it so he can rotoscope. that's why his in game sprites look so good.

You don't need a green screen to rotoscope. You only really need a green screen for chroma key compositing.

Alright, so you're rotoscoping. How does that work with a green screen? I'm interested in this. Your rick astley animation looks really fluid.

Lips Sealed nevermind, I figured it out.

Anyone care to explain?
Is he doing automatic rotoscoping or something?

I'm not totally sure, but I think he's filming people/himself dance, and then looking at that footage, extracting some frames, and spriting them.
