I just heard the news that Moebius (aka Jean Giraud) passed away. He definitely has had a major impact on me as an artist and he will truly be missed. He leaves behind an amazing body of work thats sure to continue inspiring people.

i came here to post the phrase "post cool moebius pics, because he is dead". that guy had a massive effect on the aesthetics and production design of like a billion movies despite being completely unknown.

I'm really sad about this. I feel a weird sense of regret. It's silly. I just wish I had the chance to tell him how much i loved his art.

I don't think it is silly. It makes sense to me. His work had such a huge impact he may as well been some instructor hiding behind every page or book of his I looked at. And it is logical to want to thank him for every line and idea that was inspiring. If I can live to accomplish a tenth of what he did I will be happy.

You know what's odd?
I found that tumblr a few weeks ago, and only a two days before he passed, began planning a project that would be 100% inspired by the man's work.
It's sad to see him go, and now I feel obligated to put actual effort into this sort of passing project. I'll certainly share news with you all when the project is show-able.
It's all in 3D, so please, if you'd like to help honor this legend of a man's work, contact me. I want to do this right.

Moebius easily ranks among my absolute top favourite artists of all time, ever. Au revoir, M. Giraud.

On a related note, anyone know where I can buy decent prints of the man's work?
