What?

Start and finish a game prototype within 4 hours! You can start any time you want within the blitz time frame, as long as you try haaaaarrrd not to go over 4 hours of total work. The four hour limit serves to keep the projects' scope in check. Going over is no big deal, it is more of a rule of thumb for what to aim for than a strict time limit. NO BIG DEAL. JUST MAKE A GODDAM GAME!!!!

When?
The formal time during which you may spend your four-hours-or-so on creating your entry has been EXTENDED to a period of 48 HOURS from the previous 24 hours. So you may also use MONDAY to work on the game. We thought having both a weekend and weekday in there might make it just flexible enough to accommodate more people. What do you guys think?? Seems reasonable to me!

SO it is now on the second sunday and monday of every month, from 0:00 sunday to 23:59 monday!
Official Blitzkast Time starts on sunday, 18:00 UTC. But you don't have to be there if you can't! Thats just a time where everyone is invited to start their 4 hours simultaneously. But any time during the two day period is fine.
Again, the rules are pretty slack. You can keep working on the game after that, or even start a little before WHO THE HELL CARES JUST MAKE A GODDAM GAME FOR ARMOKS' SAKE

So this month, it will be at the 8th and 9th of APRIL. Just repeatin it again. Keep That in Mind.

Why?
It's the perfect excuse to take a break from your usual projects and go nuts on something new and refreshing for just a short while. You just have four hours to lose...
This is not a competition. Idea is to get people active and make those games they always wanted to but "didn't have time for it" a.k.a. too lazy!

Theres one that didnt have any entries at all (it was right on a holiday I think...) theres one that I think I skipped over in the numbers and its too late to go back, and one that I cant find the games for. I think. the numbering might also be wrong for some of the games listed. Every new topic I kind of copy some posts from the previous topic and edit em so its kind of like a telephone game, where the information mutates a little over time and may become unrecognizable a year from now!

Theres where the game is at right now. Just a test room with just one monster type to shoot.

WASD moves, mouse shoots. Right click to reload. the E key performs a kick.
Stop walking or moving your aim to be a more accurate shot (the reticle cursor indicates how accurate you are)
Aim to the bottom of the screen to speed up your movement. You are also faster when you arnt shooting or reloading. The various speeds will need some tweaking of course.

Aim for the heads to do more damage, or for the legs to make em fall over (they dont have an animation for it yet, theyll just freeze for a while right now)

my best is 38 (only proper test run with scoring working). I don't think the difficulty ramps up properly but whatever

if you want to hit the birds you have to lead them a bit
