I'm Eero "GuitarMonkey" Turkia, a game development student from Finland. I've been making games (with varying results) since I was a wee lad, but it isn't until now that I'll be able to potentially start making a living out of it. I'm currently on a game called Qbeh, which I intend to use as a "flagship" in my portfolio. It's a game where you use the awesome power of cubes to solve puzzles. The gameplay is ripped off from inspired by Minecraft and Portal. I'll try to squeeze out a playable demo soon. Want to contribute? More info after the screenshots! FEATURES:- "Cube" your way through [number here] exciting levels!
- Dangerous situations!
- MORE CUBES!
More features may pop up as I develop the game. SCREENSHOTS (outdated):CONTRIBUTIONS NEEDED:None RELEASE DATE:June 12th 2012

He did, after all, mention it was ripped off/inspired by Portal (and Minecraft).
Anyway this looks pretty rad to me! Something about the art style I like!

Yeah, I'm pretty much using Portal and ancient Greek architecture as reference. To get an idea of what the game looked like while I was still experimenting with the concept, take a look at this demo. I personally think the old style looks rubbish in retrospect, but each to their own.

May I ask how big is the most used cube texture? Also, how does the ground look? By the way, good job, it looks great

May I ask how big is the most used cube texture? Also, how does the ground look? By the way, good job, it looks great The most used cube texture is 640x640 pixels. There's no ground per se, as the game environments are that of floating structures high in the sky. Can you shoot portals with your bare hands?
While the game's core mechanic is partly inspired by Portal, actual Portal-shooting isn't a gameplay mechanic. The player has the ability to collect cubes and place them on specific surfaces.

Sorry for the lack of updates. The second to last day of development has started, which will be spent implementing minor features and fixing bugs that came up during the first beta. The release date is the 11th of June, 2012. A website has been created for the game.

The release of Qbeh has been delayed until tomorrow because of factors beyond my control. So the new release date is 12th of June 2012.
