Also, I went through Ariamis before getting past the knights. Was it supposed to be late-game content? It kinda felt like it

You can always get back to Firelink, as long as you don't enter the painting in Anor Londo (and even if you do, the trip back out from the Painted World is relatively easy and the boss fight is optional).

How does this game compare to bethesda games in terms of length? I've stopped playing morrowind because the game was to long and stopped being fun. I want a game that I can finish in less than three months, is that possible with these games?

my playthrough time says 66 hours but a lot of that was multiplayer
so probably doable in 40ish if you just go straight forward
it's not open ended like skydum

I GOT.. out of Sen's Fortress and I'm just chillin on the roof lookin at the boulder giant when suddenly FIRE and oh fuck there's a guy throwing bombs at me

You can probably beat it in 5 hours if you actually know where to go and are skilled at the game (the master key shaves off a couple hours). Most of the time spent is repeated attempts and exploration of various places. |

PW seemed quite easy until I encountered crow demons. They chew up stamina, stagger you with mid/low poise and it took me some time to avoid their (usually) fatal grab attack. |
