You know, depending on how the savegames are handled internally, maybe you can skip loadgame music and just load the soundtrack of the savegame? So if you saved in the overworld, you hear the overworld theme. Kind of like a preview of what part of the game you're loading.

Update on the games development: The few people who have tested the game (outside the developers) have clocked in between 4-5 hours of gameplay in the main story, and 1-2 hours of sidequests. That is where the game stands at about 60% complete. Two of us are working on developing the main quest in the game, while two others are making side quests and flavor areas. We expect the game to be about double it's current length when it's complete. If you haven't done so already, please like us on facebook! http://www.facebook.com/AckkStudios

Here is concept art for Roy Guarders Wife, who is known in the game simply as... "Loving Wife." The artwork was created from the sprite I did of the character, rather than the opposite. So It's more reverse concept art, than just concept art. The colors aren't final, and it still needs some touching up but I'm happy with the direction so far. The game will include a manual (a PDF most likely) that will be fashioned after the Links Awakening and Chrono Trigger manuals. It will contain artwork for all major characters, as well as little comics explaining how the games mechanics work.

Not sure if objectifying women, or implying Roy is absentminded inventor...

Roy spends much of the game seperated from her, so its more an expression of his love of his life with her that he cant wait to return to. We probably should name her at some point.

I've always been intrigued with worlds/games that lack color for not-just-artistic-style reasons.

Hello! Sorry I've gone so long without an update. The game is coming along well. We started exploring the options of bringing the game to other platforms other than PC. Here is a video of us testing the game on a TV. Nothing major, but it does show an unseen area of the game. I will have a big update with more info on a demo, release, and things like this this week. Hope you enjoy the video.

I'm pretty sure it's being run on a laptop with an xbox controller hooked up because when the camera moves you see a laptop hanging out too.

In that video the game is running on a laptop hooked up to a TV, being play on an xbox controller. Here is a new image from the game... This is what happens when Roy first experiences on earth: Update on games development: The engine is now complete, and the vast majority of the games areas are done. We are now working mainly on sidequests and polishing cut scenes. We're currently looking for game testers, so if you're interested please send me an email at [email protected]The game is on track for our December release goal.

For those of you who haven't seen it, here is the first proper trailer:
Some of the sounds will be replaced in the real game.

@JobLeonard it's for XBOX 360, PC, and OSx. Also, HOW ARE YOU THE ONLY PERSON TO HAVE SPOTTED THAT YET? Here is a proper trailer:
So for the past few months I've been toying with idea of doing animated cutscenes like the openings of Links Awakening and the Capcom Oracle of Seasons and Ages games: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3MY_wHe8xRM&feature=player_detailpage#t=14sI will animate them just about as much (maybe a little more) than those videos. Here is a story board of of the first scenes (just 3 frames of it. It's from an important conversation the Two Brothers in the middle of the game.) The game will likely feature three or four of these. Now my question for you guys is this: Once the scenes are done and animated, they will be pixelated to look very similar to the scenes I post above. Do you like this idea or should we stick with the clean lines? (scroll over to see the entire image)
