So I swear I saw Aquaria in last months Edge magazine and in the march Games for Windows (formerly CGW) mag. Seems like Aquaria and Bitblot are rapidly becoming press favorites much like introversion and their last few titles. .... Dear BitBlot, Please don't release and Aquaria that sucks, people will laugh at you. -Concerned TIGSource Forum Member ....

Well at the very least they are beginning to achieve "Indie darling" status... (which in the long run never hurts exposure)

I'm pretty sure the way Introversion became "press favorites" was through an aggressive PR campaign headed by a dedicated press officer (Vicky Arundel). That's also how the "last of the bedroom programmers" nonsense came about. It was self-applied to grab press attention.
EDIT: AFAIK

Actually it just came to my attention that calling themselves "last of" is derogatory to us indie devleopers that didn't have a chance to shine yet :|. Stupid me!

How about "last cardboard-box-near-the-railway-station coders"? Would be harder to beat ;].

Well, they'd have to be Last of the Toilet Coders just to keep up, at which point you could shift your operations to Last of the U-Bend Coders, thus forcing Introversion into a position where they'd be truly plumbing the depths in order to keep up. Thank you, I'm here all night

Wha, really? Yeah, seriously. Wha? Also, I don't want us to BE the next Introversion. They seem a little, uh, introverted. So yeah, we're just the next Bit Blot, that's all!

Yeah I got the march issue of CGW right here (the mention and screenie are on pg 42) ... and I saw it in another mag last month. It might not have been Edge.. it might have been PC Gamer. Either way.. you guys are getting much love from the mainstream ("core") press!

I'll check in EDGE today, someone's bound to have it at the office or I'll have a browse in WHSmiths on the way to work.

QFT Also they freely admit to making forum plants to pimp their games. Proper plants, not just one-off spam posts. You know, post for a while then drop the link etc.
