Okay, I'm gonna give this little project a shot. If you've ever read
Not Quite What I Was Planning, or
Shortest Tales of Love and Death, you'll know what I'm talking about. You might know anyway.
Basically, the gist is that you choose strong, effective, funny, obscene, or very particular keywords to tell a whole story in just a few words. Like that first book I mentioned, I want to do this with 6-words.
The theme:
indie gamingRestriction:
6-wordsYou can write about playing a particular indie game, a certain PART of a particular indie game, about indie games in general about indie developers, popular or not, about TIGSource, Indiegames.com, or about making games in general, and the trials and terrors that entail. Get creative, the only REAL rule is to make it in 6-words. Let's see what you folks can do.
If this catches, I plan on collecting these all up and making a fun little page. Basically, I'll make a quick black-and-white sketch to accompany every entry
and having the page randomly select one from the database on refresh. I'll probably take more entries by email, too.
But that's if it catches. So come on, people! Tell me your stories. You're allowed as many as you like. Here are some inspiring examples from the aforementioned book:
"After Harvard, had baby with crackhead." -Robin Templeton
"Seventy years, few tears, hairy ears." -Bill Querengesser
"Catholic school backfired. Sin is in!" -Nikki Beland
"A sake mom, not soccer mom." -Shawna Housman
"The psychic said I'd be richer" -Elizabeth Bernstein
"Painful nerd kid. Happy nerd adult. -Linda Williamson
"Fifteen years since last professional haircut." -Dave Eggers
Fly at 'er. I'll submit a few too, soon.
