Here's where I'm posting the completed requests: https://soundcloud.com/purplecurse/sets/tigsource-requestsHi everybody, Quick introduction... My name is Harrison. I'm going to school for computer programming, but I'm very much interested in composing music as well. I started off making music 4 years ago as a freshmen in high school, using Mixcraft 5. From there on, I've been improving my skills, along with my gear. My earlier stuff was more "video gamey", however I slowly moved into making electronic dance music (electro, house, dubstep, etc.). But I've always thought making video game music was more fun, and also that it's more creative and interesting. Since I don't have a very large (or recent) portfolio right now for my music, I thought that I might as well let other people benefit from making it. So... Request a track for me to make for you! Any genre! Orchestral, chiptune, polka, anything. It doesn't have to be for a game (although that's always cool ). Just be sure to be specific and original as possible. Only restrictions are: 1. Not longer than 1:30 3:00 2. No lyrics (my singing voice killed a man, once) 3. It might take a while to make, depending on the difficulty You can do anything you want with the song after you have it, except claim it as your own. You can use it anywhere, just be sure to give credit to PurpleCurse ( [email protected]) if you do. Also, if you do want to use it in a game, I can make a longer and better version upon request. Experience- 8 Years of Piano Lessons
- Proficient with Cubase 6.5
- Created Music Tracks for 2 Games (Both tracks are very old, though)
- Penny Puzzle (Android)
- Straima (PC)
Gear- Yamaha DGX-220
- Cubase 6.5
- Halion Sonic
EDIT: I have changed my alias. If you have used my music in a game and already credited me using my previous name, I don't mind at all.

Can you make something similar to one of the songs in the Thomas Was Alone OST? Would appreciate it if you could!

I'll try it! Should it be a chiptune like this, or should it be made with normal instruments with a similar melody? Can you make something similar to one of the songs in the Thomas Was Alone OST? Would appreciate it if you could!
Wow, that soundtrack is awesome. I'll definitely give it a try!

I don't want to say chiptune, but if you can, can you use similar sounding instruments?

Do you have a page with samples of your work?
Can you do something super aggressive fast paced heavy metal style? Sort of what would be playing during the intense part of a fight scene in a 80's army action flick?

OK, I'll just get in line. I made this mockup with your thread in mind: Imagine an RPG without combat, tropical island setting, just a relaxed and pleasant overworld tune. The more harmonious you can get it, and the more grounded in actual real music styles (cha cha, samba/pagode or latin jazz come to mind), the better! Absolutely no preference regarding actual instruments vs. chiptunes! And if it's actually livened up a bit with modern/electronic instruments, the better. And this is really just a mockup, not an actual project or anything... Have fun (If you choose to give it a try)! Edit: So this has even more detail, let me link a few tracks that might just be something of an inspiration! Bossa+pop: Cha cha: (just forget about the singing, it's easily removable or replacable by, say, a xylophone or something)

Hey everyone, song status update time? Green (who PM'd me) : Your song is done, unless you want me to change anything. Check your private messages. Also, you don't mind if I post it on this topic, do you? #Sharp : Started your song, but I didn't like the way it was turning out. The instruments just didn't match up with the melody. I might just scratch the current one and try again. Sorry, hope you don't mind. Code_Assasin : About halfway done with yours. InfiniteStateMachine : I have a Soundcloud and Bandcamp account, but it's not for video game music. And could you get an example of a song similar to what you want me to make? I don't really know where to start with your request... :I Miguelito : Cool mockup! I'm experimenting around with those two genres, and so far I'm liking how it's turning out. About 30% done with it.

Updates: Code_Assassin - Almost done with yours... Miguelito - Yours is finished! Sorry about the sax solo, I don't know what came over me... :| https://soundcloud.com/hfish-music/a-latin-jazz-bossa-nova-themeI'll message you with a download link as well. #Sharp - Started a new version of yours, hopefully I'll have it finished soon. I started a set on Soundcloud for all my finished songs from this forum so you can take a listen, I'll put it in the OP. And sorry that some of you that have been waiting still don't have your songs, I'm not working in any particular order (though I probably should be...) :/

I needed to ask, what inspired you for the melody?
(i've slowed it down a bit, I'm going to make the melody my leitmotif)
do you have an email that I can add to the credits?

Thanks for this great song! Style-wise, it's 100 % spot-on, amazing! I'm sure it isn't easy just pulling out the right instruments and starting, but you nailed it. As said, this isn't for any ongoing project, so feel free to use it as a portfolio piece, or even for another game if someone is interested. It would be interesting to see what comes out of this!
