Fantastic game! I just bought the Fan Edition. But I can't see the download on Humble Bundle, just Steam keys. I guess that's because it is not finally released yet, right? That's fine, because I'm currently very busy with developing anyway... But I'm very curious to make an expedition soon Thanks! We've uploaded DRM-free clients to the humble store, so you should able to download those too now via your account.

I wouldn't say so. Similarity doesn't equal unoriginality. I was working on a game that was incredibly similar to environmental station alpha, but it was my own idea, it just happened to look and play like ESA. I think games are rip offs when they steal the focus of the other game, or when they try and steal the original game's fanbase. From what I can see, "Renowned Explorers" is more focused on it's half baked fighting system instead of actual discovery and adventure, and it isn't trying to piggyback off of the fanbase that curious expedition has compiled.

The concept "synchronicity" comes to mind, which when applied to culture would mean that similar ideas can crop up from people who've never spoken to each other (or even know about the other). If you surround yourself in a similar culture the same kinds of ideas are prone to come up, in this case something like "wouldn't it be interesting to have a game about expeditions?". I am also curious about what the expedition is doing currently, looking forward to updates.

This thread has been cleaned of the ranting posts. Other individual posts may have been caught in the cleanse; my apologies if so.
For future reference, do not come into a devlog and enter into tirades against the developer, subsequently dominating the thread and conversation. It's incredibly rude and will result in moderator action.
Thanks.

RJAG, do not come back to this thread to harangue quixotic about their decision to have permadeath in their game. You didn't get the clue the first time, so here I am laying it out directly for you. If you act up again, your ban will be longer. If you want to discuss permadeath as an option, and the pros/cons of such a system, take it to Design.
Thanks.

Looks very interesting. I am not really into buying pre-release but when you guys get further along I will pick it up.
Kind of reminds me of 7 cities of gold which was a fantastic game.
