So I decided I couldn't let those Game Maker-using bastards outdo us!! Wait, I use Game Maker. Actually I just thought it would be cool to make a counterpart to Rinku's video with MMF games. Unfortunately I couldn't find 100 good MMF games  :D No, but seriously, it seems like MMF has some amazing games and some terrible games and nothing in between. The upside is that I got to devote 12 seconds instead of 6 seconds to each game. The downside of that is that you get more of a chance to see how much I suck at most of those games

I would have uploaded it on youtube but it kept freezing up... after half an hour of uploading  Angry.

Anyway, enough chitchat, here it is!

http://www.wegame.com/watch/50_MMF_Games_in_10_Minutes/

And thanks to konjak for letting me use his music. Petals FTW! Beer!

(sorry if it takes a long time to load. I think maybe I made it too high quality or something.)

A commendable effort, but I was somewhat surprised that you missed out on our very own TIGSource Duels. Also, I was expecting Streambolt Desero or one of Gustav's other games.

And... speaking of TIGSource Duels... I think you should find at least some interesting games in thewreck's list, http://www.create-games.com/profile.asp?id=554 (hint: Mageling, McLaren Racing, Blueface or why not Spacefest?). You should be able to find 100 games if you keep looking, imho...

EDIT:

Is also a beatiful MMF game, but I guess it's hard to pick clips from games that haven't been released yet (to my knowledge).

Awesome. Thanks for including my game, though it seems to stick out terribly among all those classics. I had no idea the ikiki games were MMF.

And I see you're a Jon Smeby fan? I made a level for Teh Forum Game a while back.

Ha haaa yeah Active 2 uses MMF's software rendering and that's all I could use : (  I also made the Diamond Dodger game.

Looks great, I need to try some of these. As an aside, in a couple of the clips the mouse cursor seemed to get in the way, it's probably too late now but you can set CamStudio to 'not record the mouse cursor' in one of its options.

Sweet. Gotta love MMF! Although the better games "graphically" are on Game Maker. At least it seems like that to me...? Is it because Game Maker has it's own language?

I'm an old school Klik and Play, Click and Create, and then MMF user before I got into C++ programming and other languages. I never used Game Maker. So why is it, that it seems to me, that the games look better on Game Maker? (exception from Noitu Love, Chalk, and Noitu Love 2. Because we call know Joakim Sandberg is god of sprites... Also Bonesaw was one hell of a kickass game.)

I wouldn't say GameMaker games look better; most, in both clips, look great.

You squashed both Knytts, though, chutup. Sad

It's possible the reason is that GM just has more users, rather than anything inherent in the engines. But I haven't used MMF so I don't know about its graphical capabilities. GM supports DirectX 8.0 and d3d (to an extent), so it's possible the more fancy things like additive blending and such MMF can't do and GM can?

GM supports hardware acceleration as MMF JUST released a (horrible) beta that they never update.

Hmm, no Darkside Adventures, Alex's Adventure, Stargirl, Hickory, Ever Eternal Winter World, Space Barnacle, or Mr. Stump.

But otherwise, not bad Beer!

Edit:  Wait, was Space Barnacle MMF?  I can't remember now.

Edit 2:  Yep, it was.
