Hi all,

I've been lurking around here for years and only recently registered. Finally plucked up the courage to post something about my game...

I've been developing a cricket game (yes, that quintessentially British past-time) for the last 2 years and have finally reached a point where I'm reasonably comfortable making it public. It's a 3D arcade/simulation game and is pretty featured-packed (at least, more so than other cricket games):

- all formats & rules (including beach & Hong Kong 6's)
- built-in domestic & international competitions & customisable tournaments
- detailed simulation & commentary engine
- some features not seen in other games, e.g. ball deformation & discolouration

Some in-game screenies:

Like the devlog status says it's around 80% complete. Once I've finished career mode, I need to revamp the UI and commission someone to create some 3D stadia for me. At that point, I think I'll call time on this project Smiley

I've set up a temporary website for the game over http://cricketheroes.co.za/Downloads.html. You can find more information about the controls and a how-to-play there.

I'm not sure how many forumites here are fans of the genre, but I'm not expecting many eyes on this thread Tongue Still, if you do manage to stumble on this, I'd appreciate any criticism/help...especially wrt the UI. Programmer art sucks.

Cheers!

Cool, the first cricket game I've seen on here! Sounds like you've done a lot of work. It looks to me like a cricket version of wii sports, would be great to have the wii-mote control the bat. Smiley

Bumpity bump.

Lots of news regarding this...the game is now functionally complete! Everything from challenges to career mode is now playable. I've also created a dozen or so editors with which you can mod most aspects of the game and have written a WIP manual for beginners.

Website: http://cricketheroes.co.za
Download: http://cricketheroes.co.za/Data/Full.zip
Manual: http://cricketheroes.co.za/Data/Manual.pdf

I've also created an Indiegogo campaign! It is squarely aimed at improving the graphics and animation. Like I said, the game is functionally complete and is ready to go. Most of the complaints have been regarding graphics :/ Unfortunately, I don't have the funds to have it improved, so I'm banking on crowd funding to help us out...

Even if you don't contribute to the campaign, I'd greatly appreciate it if you could try out the game and let me know what you think. As before, any and all comments are welcome Smiley

Pretty delighted to find this here. I shall not only contribute, but also share on a forum that has more cricket lovers. Smiley

Glad to help, but you need roughly 200 people at $30 contribution. You will need to spread the word a lot.

Yup, the maths doesn't look good :/ I'm highly skeptical but like I said: even if it doesn't get funded now, I'll still release it. If in future I do manage to scrape together the funds I'll definitely commission the work Smiley
