Took my first step towards procedurally generated tilesets.
Have you looked into texture synthesis at all? There's ways you can take a sample of a texture and from it generate an arbitrarily-sized image that looks the same but does not tile. The link explains it better. I was looking into it to try to build a level generator off that idea (since a level made of tiles is really just a special case of a bitmap image, and I figured it's possible that preserving the "texture" of the level might preserve its playability). I was thinking you could run your little ramdomly-generated tile through that and have an interestingly trippy background image that never tiles.

Seems the gif had some slight kinks that resulted in a weird sky phenomenon...

Isn't it likely he'd be grabbing and opening things with his feet anyway? (although I'm not sure how feasible is to open a chest with one's toes)

Not exactly a game, but it's my next Game Maker asset. Focusing on player states and interactive terrain.

With a gamebook or interactive fiction (that is very text/story focused) it can be difficult to make certain things pop and have a wow/neat-factor. Here I'm trying to make getting a stat point (building your character) feel exciting:

me and eva do a 7d3rdpersons That's so good. Could imagine a cross between Hotline Miami and Serious Sam with these graphics.

Not exactly being worked on, more like a Game Jam project that didn't go anywhere. Pity, really... Well, here's the protagonist sprite at least! idle | walk | swing | Alucard-style backdash | knockback | |

nobody is allowed to compliment catguys textures or he will get mad because he used tricks and that makes them not as good.

no rabbit these are still good as far as textures go, it's just 3d is inherently bad (cuz tricks) anyway i'm glad you all like it! credit goes to eva for having good taste and all the shaders/lighting/timing. Excited to work more on the game. If you want the illusion shattered, you guys can play the hacky demo build on the 7dfps site, it's called 'swan song.' It's not much of a game atm (we started late and bit off more than was reasonable to try to chew inside of the jam time limit) but there's a lot of really solid foundational stuff that eva got done which should make it transition into a Real Game pretty easily as soon as we get back to work on it. me and eva do a 7d3rdpersons that looks amazing, the art really pops!

This is for RADON, a high-caliber stealth racing game I've been working on for the past couple of months. we're going to show it off at a gamedev exhibition at my school this Friday. Should be fun! side note: I have the spritesheet for this animation saved as "deathsplosion.png"
