Alright I forgot to talk about this week. But iw orked a lot on finishing the intro , which i did (!) and we need to arrange the intro gauntlet which I will do soon. I also did a ton of work on some UI things like the 'fiedl guide' and the 'events' parts of the journal

Week 8: Out from the earth

Uh... worked on a bunch of ui things yesterday, finished up something on monday... today dialogue stuff for the japanese build and design of the introduction level gauntlet.

Super excited for this. Anodyne was great! The level editor you made in HaxeFlixel looks really cool. Any plans on releasing the editor part of the code at any point?

Thanks! I could release it, but I don't think the code per se is too helpful - hard to read. The concepts are probably more useful. But I could do either.

Whoa I forgot again! Now we're on Week 9:  The Island With a Single Tree

Uh so last week a I did a lot of work on the intro stuff for TGS. I finished all of it, now there's just the art to add so we can get the game showable for TGS - yay! The intro, is about 30-40 minutes for new players... so that should be good.


Week 1: The March Into the Sea
Week 2: Swimming Across The Ocean
Week 3: Glowing Coral Field
Week 4: Gaping Coral Maw
Week 5: A Dark Ascent
Week 6: A Square Chamber
Week 7: Within Gleaming Spheres
Week 8: The Island With A Single Tree

Joni did some intro area art, it is looking good. I'm still on vacation but I fixed a few things. Hopefully I can find some time to work on some small thingies for the game.

I've been really looking forward to this game! I got my hands on it at PAX a couple years back and I've wanted more ever since.

The art is absolutely beautiful and compelling. It makes me want to explore the world and learn more about its lore. So much love and attention to detail has gone into it, and it shows!

Thanks - we use this art style because it scales better- from a time standpoint, Pixel art would take too long, but from an artistic standpoint, i prefer thos method more because it allows for faster ease of expression and a looser feel.. Which o think is more fitting with the game world.

Tbh, i think this style doesn't really look like anything coming out, but neither did the old style, jonis art is quite unique!
