Hello everyone! I just got done introducing myself in the other thread, so now it's time to push our game into the spotlight:

Interplanetary is a turn based strategy game featuring warfare between two planets. The game is set in a fictional planetary system where two planets have evolved intelligent life and ultimately achieved planetary civilizations. These two planets have fallen into a conflict for the natural resources of the planetary system they share.

The level of technology in the game is not too far from ours, and instead of stereotypical sci-fi starfleets, war is waged with massive, planetary weapons and other megastructures, built right on the surface of the home planet. As the game progresses, technological advances allow more and more options for protecting the people and defeating the enemy.

Main part of the game is about managing the limited natural resources of the player's home planet, developing its infrastructure and researching new technology. Each turn ends with action phase, where player gets to target the weapon systems at the enemy planet and unleash his military might. The game supports various different tactics ranging from a planetary broadside of railgun slugs to few, but deadly precise strikes with interplanetary lasers.

If you enjoy games with similar elements, like DEFCON, Civilization series, or even the old artillery games, we will definitely have something interesting in store for you!

You can follow us in Facebook, Google+ and Twitter. Our development blog gets relevant updates weekly. Stay tuned for more! Blink

Hooray for bullshots! Giving me hope that may or may not be false!
We will do our best to meet the expectations. Smiley

We have a new development blog post up, this time it's about designing laser WMDs capable of interplanetary destruction. We need to revise the design a bit though, as it appears you can not bend light with magnetic lenses. Also, have some concept sketches!

In this weeks DevBlog update we explain some basic mechanics behind Interplanetary's cities, town, colonies and buildings. Next week should be interesting. If all goes well, we get to meet some people at Frozenbyte and get some feedback on our game proto. Can't wait! Smiley

Another update on the Development blog, this time about designing technologies for the game. There's also some fresh concept art available, enjoy!

The visit to Frozenbyte that we mentioned in the previous post was just as interesting as we hoped. We got some very encouraging feedback on Interplanetary, and although the prototype we presented is far from perfect, we were happy to notice we had already recognized most of the potential problems that were pointed out by the professionals as well. Self-confidence +5!

That said, the development of the prototype has now ended, and we spent most of the last week working on the final design. While our programmers will get cracking on that on monday, some of us will have an opportunity to take part in Nordic Game Conference in Malmö, Sweden.

Let us know if you're also coming and are interested in discussing about Interplanetary (or anything really) in person.  Gentleman

It's been a while since the last update here, but we are making good progress! Here's the very first actual screenshot from our pre-alpha version. Please let me remind you that the game will actually look good.

We have been working on adding the basic features like building and targeting for a good while now, and they are almost done. The new UI is starting to take shape as well, the decision to move to NGUI has helped a lot with that.

So, I'm happy to announce we will be entering the alpha in a couple of weeks. Though we are not quite ready to go for open alpha at this point, let me know if you're interested and there is a good chance we will send you a link after some preliminary testing.

If you're interested in more details about the development and game features, please check out the weekly development blogBlink

It sure has been a while since we last updated our DevLog here Embarrassed

The good news is Interplanetary has been doing quite well. We have managed to get greenlit and to enter Steam Early Access. Thanks to the players, we got to expand the game beyond our initial expectations. Interplanetary is currently in internal beta state, going through the final stretch to 1.0!

The current feature list includes:

  • Building and managing your planet's infrastructure
  • Gathering and managing of resources
  • Technology research and development
  • Spying on enemies to reveal their weak points
  • Aiming your artillery constructions at the enemy planets through the solar system, avoiding other celestial bodies and their gravity
  • Firing your railguns, missiles and beam weapons to annihilate the enemy
  • Playing against AI opponents in the Single Player Mode
  • Playing with other human players in Hotseat and Online Multiplayer Modes

Here's our Early Access trailer:

Note: the trailer is about a year old, but it should give you an idea of how the game plays.

Will be back with more updates!  Gentleman
