After skimming through the commonplace a little, I find a good synonym for this compo to be "horror game competition"

Which is lovely Grin

I'd like to think I could pull something off for this. I'd really like to, because those little snippets of ideas are badass. But my proficiency in game making is kinda poor. Undecided

So... Would choosing an idea that someone else is already doing a game about be frowned upon?
I've been going through the list of ideas, and every time I find one that inspires me, I go check the forums only to find out that somebody else already called dibs on it  Sad

Hopefully this time I'll be able to get something done on time...

There's a couple doubles already.  Don't worry about it.  Using the same inspiration is fine, but you might want to check that you're not making the same game.

Having found this site recently and playing some of the stuff from previous competitions, I think I might try and make something for this one Smiley

I'm into the "Narrator walks along unfamiliar country road". I like the idea of the narrator, could be a nice opportunity to have some nice story telling.

I got the visual principle in my head, the ideas for the gameplay, just need to find a name, and make the stuff HAPPEN :D

Thx for this wonderfull topic !

Yeah, I almost miss this one too.

Also, I am in.

Also, I am looking for an artist and a level designer; I might not participate if I can't ally with both. Further Info.

23 The man who would not sleep—dares not sleep—takes drugs to keep himself awake. Finally falls asleep—and something happens.

So I guess Lovecraft's ideas wern't all winners...

I could actually see that one being extraordinarily effective if written well.

A lot of these ideas are cool... But as I told Derek, Lovecraft's racism is somewhat extreme, even for "the times".  Although I'm unlikely to enter anything, I would probably make a game based on his fear of "unpure natives" and miscegenation. Ideas 108 and 109 are good examples of that.

I think #148 'vampire dog' makes up for the ideas which aren't winners
