Made the main menu simpler: only 3 buttons instead of 5.

I like it, nice and simple. The "V" in LEVELS is a bit funky though. And maybe a big sword behind the Eastward Quest or something..

Thinking of something like this for the loading screen. Not sure if I should add a scenario/ground under his feet or what.

Trying to apply the simplest possible feature first, a normal background.

Does it look better than the abstract blue bg?

The loading screen with art definitely looks better than just the blue background.

Sorry to say this but, I personally prefer the blue background one. It´s more minimalistic, it´s clean and simple, and it´s only a loading screen. I think the characters gets a little bit lost in the second one, with so much background colors and decoration.

Anyway, both´ll work nicely.

I'm not sure how much work it would be, but if you could have the plain blue background with white loading bar and white silhouette of the hero running above I think that would look good

Been following this a while.

I also prefer the simple blue background loading screen, it looks very cute.

Thanks for the comments, guys!

This is the best I can do as far as "white silhouette" goes. Let me know what you think!

Keep in mind this is the preloader, before the game starts. There are no loading screens after the game starts.

AD1337, the graphical style is simple and so good, I like it. The silhouette-loading-bar looks better then other variants.

Ya I like the silhouette, especially if its the first thing you see when you start the game, sort of teasing what's to come.

Personally I preferred the fully coloured version rather than the plain white character. I think the plain is "too plain". The plain background I agree on, as the fully fledged background was a bit much (especially as it appears on the title screen).

I would go as far as to say that it looks a little too abstract - had I not known what the character already looked like I'd say it looks like some sort of malformed animal wearing an oversized mask!

Just my opinion Smiley

I agree, Brayzen. I changed the loading screen to fit the character rather than change the character to fit the screen. You can see the new loading screen in the week 7 recap below:

I'm almost done. In the end, it will take about 2 months to make this game, double the expected development time. There is a lesson there.

Graveyard enemies animations: zombie, skeleton, ghost. Not featured is the spider.
