ya that happened to me with the first prototype, i was animating things out fully before we had even figured out any core game loops & mechanics. It was still super fun, but I don't want to do that again, so i'm forcing myself not to design and animate anything until the core mechanics are figured out.
im not very good at it, i already animated the coins. its not easy. the fun part for me is the creative/design/animation so i naturally try to do that first, but that's not good or helpful for prototyping, ive learned.

Are you pushed out of the jump-through platforms?

hover meter stops & resets when you touch any ground surface, if that's what you're asking

Excuse me what is even the purpose of the ceiling spikes? They are clearly not meant to be hit, so are they just there for consistency's sake? Also this looks duper btw

you're still able to hit some of them if you jump to max height from the second ledge on the left there, but its mostly for consistancy.
the 'spikes' wont visually be literally spikes in the game. this will end up being the inside of a tree & the 'spikes' will end up being some sort of poisonous tree sap, or some-such thing.
Spikes are super fun with the hovering, but visually they'll be something else, because... spikes.

right now were sort of 'dumping in' a ton of features that are super rough a couple of them are lightning spit & destructible terrain' before we had lightning farting out of Cloudface's butt but now it's actually a projectile so you can now blow kitty bombs up without getting damaged! we're still trying to figure out if this is a default move for him or a powerup.

thanks Tim! so, something simple but I find really cool is being able to look around. in a game where you can hover horizontally over a pretty long stretch, it's good to have a camera that you can have a little control over so you don't have to make any leaps of faith. This is something we're still experimenting with, but so far I'm happy with this system. the camera movement is tied to the right analog stick, it's pretty much the same way it works in Fez having this ability should hopefully encourage exploration

Ah, so you have to pick up papers. So this is like a 2D slenderman right?
The camera movement looks like it will work really well.

I've played webplayer demo for the 60th time this month. I wish it was longer...
Meanwhile my game is shaping up nicely. I wish people would care though.

I like the new mehanics. And looking around is.. uh, looking good. Ladies and gentlemen: my english vocabulary! Anyhow, I like the hover/rain thing. I saw it can be used to make plants give you stuff. You could also use it to create perils. Like thorny plants growing into a huge spikes, making the current hovering a one-way trip. That kinda stuff.

we're still trying to figure out if this is a default move for him or a powerup. Looks like a powerup to open new paths to me.
