You should hold off on the demo, cause I'm gonna put a new one up before the end of this week.
It'll have all the combat changes that I've been adding and all the polishing up that I've been doing for the past couple of weeks.

I'd say this has more of a RotMG vibe to it than Zelda.  Lips Sealed

Looks like alot of fun!  Coffee

Yes, there is controller support.
You can also rebind the keys and customize the controls to your liking.

Thanks!
Yeah, I've been going for a more action oriented gameplay.
I'm a big fan of fighting a lot of monsters and feeling like a badass while doing so.
The big make or break thing for it being fun is the balance.
I'll be working on that a lot with you all when I get the demo out.

Uh whoops, didn't get the demo out, cause I had a lot more to polish up than I thought.
But a day or two of waiting in exchange for a much more polished up game is a fair trade in my eyes.
Here's a weapon that was initially horrible, but now it's good.

I went to go try one of the lesser demos (as I said I would) on IndieDB the other day and realized it is Windows only  Cry

Regardless, the latest animated GIFs look great! The overlaid experience points gained upon enemy death adds a nice sense of "accomplishment".

So I've been working on the game all I can in my spare time and I just got through doing a full test run of the dungeon. All that's left is some balancing tweaks and then polishing up the arena mode which I hope doesn't take very long.

Then that seems to be about it, except for some slime animations.

The demo is out now!
Lots of major combat changes in here.

Download HERE

In this demo, you’ll be able to explore the 30+ room dungeon! The dungeon is filled with puzzles, traps and secrets! But watch out for the dangerous inhabitants of the caves, not to mention the vicious bosses within them. Treasure awaits for those clever enough to find them!

If exploring doesn’t happen to be your thing, you can test your steel and wits against hordes of monsters in the endless arena mode which includes the bosses and mini-bosses.

Can I get some help-for-dumb-people? In the demo I enter the dungeon but I can never go past the very first door. I seem to have explored everything. I'm pretty sure I'm not supposed to grind the first room until I have 9999 for a key. What obvious thing did I miss? Also, combat is definitely cool, though arena is too hard for me.

I blame my level design, you aren't the first that has run into this problem.
There's a boomerang in a chest on that very first screen once you enter the cave.
There should be a switch in the north east part of the room.
You can hit that switch which should open up the door to the north.

Doh, thanks. The idea is fine mind, but yeah, if many people encounter this then perhaps it needs to be more obvious the first time. Maybe have the chest with the boomerang behind a door that needs a switch pressed to open, so you at least encounter half the mechanics before taking the extra step of then using the boomerang.

Yep I'm going to have to rework the levels a bit to make things more intuitive.
Thanks a bunch for checking out the demo!

Ok, so a lot of people were confused with how I had the menu interface set up. Equipping items was confusing. This should be a step in the right direction.

I also made a big change so that sub weapons and items are lumped together in one group. What this means is that there’s a higher degree of customization when it comes to item selection, instead of being limited to two subweapons and two items.
You can now use all the subweapons and passive/active items in whatever combination of 4 you want.

Some more inventory action.
Also, a look at an old-new weapon.
