The Wolf's Bite is a competitive choose-your-own-adventure game with an entrepreneurial fairy tale twist. The game revolves around thwarting the other player while advancing your agenda. You have one week to make or break the Wolf's latest venture, The Wolf's Bite Restaurant. Will it flourish or will it fail, like the Wolf's previous residential demolition business?

Once upon a time...
After failing to thrive in the highly competitive residential demolition industry, mostly due to difficulties dealing with brick construction, The Big Bad Wolf decided it was time for a career change. Unable to resist the lure of entrepreneurship, he decided to enter the restaurant business.

Gameplay
The Wolf's Bite is a hybrid between a visual novel and a choose-your-own-adventure game that can be played against another friend locally or solo versus the computer. Depending on which player you choose, you'll be trying to make your restaurant succeed or you will sabotage the other party from doing so.

Players take turns and are able to explore various locations within the city while making whimsical choices over the course of seven days, when the Critics Committee will pay The Wolf's Bite a visit and judge its quality. You'll need to watch out for your own reputation and cash, as this affects your chance of success and triggering special events. Sometimes taking direct action towards your goal is ideal, but you might be surprised at how allowing yourself a simple chill break by the lake can do.

Side events will happen at each location depending on your progress or on how successful the other players actions have been. Each decision you make can lead to great rewards or dire consequences so choose wisely!

Features
  • A competitive choose-your-own-adventure game for one or two players.
  • Over 375 unique paths through the game for each player, almost every playthrough can be completely different.
  • Over twenty unique endings, all of which are decided by the decisions you and your opponent make...or don’t make.
  • Set in a unique fairy tale world, inspired by many of the classics.

We've been working on this project on our free time for over a year now and more recently it has come up together - we're definitely closer to end of development than its beginning at this point. We've been inspired by fairy tales and text adventure games especially The Yawhg, so if you've played it you might enjoy ours too. I'm aware this is quite a niche game and we've been trying to find & connect to the audience that's into these kind of games, so I'd love to hear your thoughts and impressions. Smiley

Thank you so much for checking us out!

Love the art and the concept!
Can you give more details on the competitive aspect? How the multiplayer is working, on the same screen or network?

I'll be sure to pass all of the compliments on the art to Karen :D

@Fenrir Right now the game is played locally, on the same screen. I'll post a more thorough explanation of the competitive aspect in the near future, but for now I can give a quick synopsis. Basically, you try to react to what your opponent is doing via your choices. However, this is not as straight-forward as it sounds. You will be side-tracked with random encounters, and events that you could not have planned for. These events will either help you along your way, or totally derail you, depending on how you react to them. Yea this is pretty vague, but hopefully gives you a very rough answer to your question.

Lastly, here's a quick mockup GIF of the map screen loading:

Cool concept! So, it's a randomized p&c adventure game? And multiplayer? I can't wait to see how the mechanics work Gentleman

3 has everything a great logo should have. I'd still try some different foods to maybe get a better silhouette, but yeah definitely 3 out of those.
