My Word!


Fantastic spelunky clone with all the features the old spelunky offered, such as proceduraly genenrated dungeons, traps, enemies and more.

Xbox 360 controller is recommended, as I have yet to map pickup keys to the keyboard.

Xbox controlls: A jump, left stick-move, right trigger-run,b:pickup(throw)
When throwing hold up or down on left stick to change projectile angle/velocity

Well, It will not be exactly the same. It will be 100% harder. It will be ridiculously hard just for the fun of it.
Plus, I didn't rip the graphcis, but rather made them myslef, so I don't see it as a rip-off, but rather a fan game.

there are a lot of spelunky-like games that are not called variations on the name spelunky. one good example is towerclimb

The name should be El Spunky. If it fails, you can still go back to the original with a few rotations.

I'm not setting out to make a rip-off. This game has reactive water that moves i nsinewaves dependign on how hard you hti it, unlike in spelunky where the water is just a sprite.

That's racist!

I tried the "demo" and I guess it's still too early. I didn't see a way to finish the level, a way to attack enemies outside jumping on them, etc. The player character's behavior seems off, but I kinda liked holding down jump and watching him speed past everything, walls and all. Keep it up. But maybe differentiate yourself further in your design goals. I certainly didn't necessarily think Spelunky while playing it so maybe don't sell yourself short by calling it a clone (unless you do end up closing it).
