Hi!

I'm currently developing an open world, action/adventure/puzzle game with an emphasis on physics and player-choice.

The game world will be comprised  of islands of all different sizes, and environments. In a similar way as wind waker, you journey out into the world using your ship as your main means of travel.

You play as a young viking boy named Tryim, who village is in turmoil sense the all men left 4 years ago on a expedition and have yet to return. After all these years of wondering, Tyrim finally sets out on a adventure of his own to discover what could have possibly happen.

Were are currently keeping everyone updated through both our tumblr page and facebook. So feel free to check those out - http://ascensiongames.tumblr.com/
https://www.facebook.com/cornerstonethesongoftyrim

The game is greatly inspired by the viking area, We we try to keep everything within the similar architecture as they used in those days.

I'm very open to feedback. I have a YouTube channel where we upload almost any progress we make, and encourage people to give ideas that might help me improve what I have.

I'll gladly respond to any questions, concerns or new ideas!

Looks nice. I'd love to do a video review or playthrough at some point. With or w/o commentary. Smiley

Although I prefer a darker art style, I have an interest in vikings so this game should be fun Smiley  It's good to see a lot of videos on your YouTube channel. I'll be watching through them later today Coffee

My favarite part of darksouls was actually the first quater of the game,it felt "fair" it felt like "i" was improving not just my character , some of thelater parts get kind of ridiculous and you're allmost forced to grind or seek help on the internet, we want to avoid that, good question thanks for asking .

Yes, I agree .At a certain point, play alone is almost impossible. You need a hero from the internet to do all the job, with level 823528 and weapons from the future. You can do nothing, just see how that hero kills the monster , and It's very frustrating.

The concept is cool but the gameplay is lacking a lot..
I don't know if it's the annoying health bars everywhere or all the characters robotic movements..
Please make this bad boy a masterpiece  Wink

I disagree. I played the game through my first time blind (no Googling/getting help) as per the internet's suggestion. The start was the most frustrating as  I couldn't even beat basic Hollows but once I got the hang of combat, the game drastically improved. I completed it without Googling or summoning anyone (even NPCs - I never went human). Also, you can only summon people +/- 10% of your level, so the people you summon are never actually that much stronger than you. Each boss was new and exciting with a new challenge. You should never need to grind in Dark Souls - you can beat the game as a Level 1 character, it's all about timing.

This got on RPS: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2013/09/04/will-this-be-a-cornerstone-of-pc-gaming/

Also, I agree that it needs more polish. The gameplay doesn't look like it gives enough feedback.

The video look nice even if FOR ME it's a bit to slow (the movement..) and the sky has too much glow. In any case, impressive job Wink

Thanks for your comments.

Please remember this is a pre alpha demo. Most things will improve over time. As an indie we are forced to release unpolished matiral with the hope that the viewers understand.

We are working our hardest to bring the best quality to you.

I like what you but in the title but it would be really cool to actually see it in game. (I'm sure you're working on it though Smiley

Wind Waker + Dark Souls + crafting + physics + open world is a massive game that would take a very long time to make. You might as well just add on mmo while you're at it. Wink Do you really need crafting? I'm just saying be careful with what you decide to work on. Make something you could actually finish.

All in all the art style is great!
