That launch: hell fucking yes
the animation: really linear, the outer leg seems to change length pretty significantly, the torso position doesn't seem to reflect the bounce that the head implies, the inner leg pauses for a weird few frames and takes longer to cycle
but don't get me wrong I fucking love everything about this so far

Blambo: thanks. Great observations. I should mention, this is my first time animating, or making pixel art of any kind, so keep the crits coming.

Hey guys, I'm just dropping in to say whats up and introduce myself. My name is Ryan, and I'm the 2nd artist on this project. -- You may be familiar with my work from Empire Eden (another Run n' Gun that didn't work out) Check out my portfolio here: www.empireeden.comAnyway, here is some stuff I threw together today... And a slight adjustment on the movement of Un.. The Un-stoppable Leader. Old vs. New

Great improvement to the run, Ryan. The scene looks great too! Not sure who I would rather play as...

this is obviously a genius idea
Confirmed, this may be the greatest idea for a game in all of history. I don't mean to come across as attacking this idea, but I'm just wondering if there is a point you're trying to make or if there's a satirical purpose to this game, and if so, what is it? I just finished reading "Nothing to Envy" by Barbara Demick...
I've also read most of that (which reminds me, I should finish it) and I think this comes back to that fundamental question that lots of art/media about unsavory topics faces - it is better to deal with awful things by making fun of them, or by treating them with total respect? I don't think either is necessarily better, but I'd suggest there's certainly a place for both. I think there's a lot out there about the real NK (like said book), and I don't think a pretty ridiculous parody is necessarily a bad thing.

I've got to say, I just don't understand how this is your first time producing pixel art and animations.
You are doing a marvelous job. Do you have any traditional art skills that carry over into it? Sometimes I regret starting with stylized pixel art, because you can obviously tell how flawed I am because of that.

This is for Tazi:
Awesome stuff! This is exactly how it should be done! @rjdigangi: The fixed run anim looks nice, so as the pic with the Rodman sprite! I was a backer of Empire Eden at Kickstarter, it looked amazing, and I'm sad to hear that it won't be ever made.

Thanks for your kind words. I am, in fact, a video game artist with over 12 years of experience, but on the 3d side of things. you can see some of my stuff below: www.TheNewRed.com
