Burnt Islands is a real-time first person shooter strategy/adventure/puzzle 3D game.

The player is placed in the world that has been destroyed and burned by robots.

The world consists of many islands floating over a burning sea.

Your task is to renew the islands and kill the enemies.

Available for Windows and Linux in same release/download:

Release 0.13.1: http://games.studiofreya.com/releases/Burnt-Islands-0.13.1.zip

We are looking for all kind of criticism! Although we know that we need to work much more on graphics.

Also, how does our logo looks like:

Red - an ocean simulation (shader)
Black - burnt ground (islands).

Whoa. I there's a lot to hate. But I like it!

First thought: How do I even play?
Then, after disc[oo, "c" opens crafting table even after death...]overing I can craft: Yay, minecraft in 3D! But wait, minecraft is in 3d... well, a good-looking minecraft!

Then I dug into the wall (upon which I decided that you really need some shadows!), then dug through the wood-covered hole (good level design there Wink ), then I basically flew a bit then my energy ran out then I died Durr...?

So what criticism can I derive from this? The GUI with the feedback window made a great impression on me (albeit being unusable after death - all keyboard shoutcuts were still funcitoning!). Yeah, you need to work a bit on graphics. Also, I would suggest some kind of tutorial, or at least some message as to what one is supposed to do. The whole meaning of the game is kind of vague for me.

The strong points of the game were the possibilities. Being able to mine the ground in a 3D-game (that is not made out of voxels) is something I've never seen before (but it does probably exist already). I think this game has a great future, and a lot of more content that I never got to explore Wink

And, physics!

So, in a nutshell: A really fun playground with lots of stuff to do, but it also needs someone to tell me what to do.

Good luck in the future development.
