Love the drool. Consider removing that lower jaw. I really have to focus to make out what it is. Also his neck has a weird bend in it.

Good ideas. I'll try to improve the jaw before removing it but that would be ok too. The neck needs more work and the spine will be animated. When it is moving i think the bend will make more sense. Here's the first golemn versions. Had to shrink it down to fit the forum. Link to full version. Changes are mostly on the head but if you note there are some differences in the chest and left foot as well as the hammer.

Out of curiosity, are you rendering the text/ascii at arbitrary pixels or is it possible to "draw" all these in a standard text area? I ask because your character's sword doesn't look possible with any traditional font spacing I've seen.

Its all text symbols but requires monospacing. Here in the forum it looks like crap. The cell dimension in the latest stuff is 16x29 pixels. In TextEdit its possible to do this, then i load and render it with the game engine. Edit: aha, apparently the 'code' feature is monospaced and looks ok, perhaps i'll use that more! │ ║ O ┼/|\ / \ The inventory example a couple of pages back is from TextEdit.

Here's the skeleton shot for comparison, and you guys can try out modifications on any of this if you feel inclined, I don't mind.
Edit: Damn there is also 'teletype' which is nice and doesn't have that box. Unfortunately it seems to increase the spacing between lines or the font is off somehow.

Thanks for the details on the golemn. I'm thinking his head could start as the #4 one then when you smash the helmet it then looks like #3. Just a possibility. Being easy to read is certainly an advantage but I have to weigh all the factors that contribute to the emotional response. I've always thought it was cool to see what the boss looks like on the inside. Here's another iteration on the skeleton. Testing the code block, let me know how its working out. It can also have interesting mechanical implications, for example the helmet can have an armor that reduces all damage by 1. So a quickly attacking weapon with high dps would not be good, a slow attacking weapon with high damage per attack would be better even if the dps is theoretically lower. After the helmet is gone the armor can go as well, prompting a new item setup.
