I remember playing an indie game, but I can't find it now and I'm gonna go crazy! Please help me find it. Here's some things I remember about it:
I think it came out last year It was a platformer It had no level transitions, just one huge map There were upgrades metroidvania style It might have had nice pixel art It was, at least in the beginning, full of browny colors I think it was called something like "theseus and the maze" or something but this may be wrong
I can answer further questions to my memory's extent. Help me!

Not nearly enough info.
Where does it being? How does it begin? What does the main character look like? What does he do? Do you remember any power-up?

It begins in some place presumably underground. I don't remember how it begins. I don't remember how the character looks. I think the character may be trying to get out. There were jump-improving power ups but I remember something important:
The powerups were not permanent, you lost them after a while.
And you could warp between certain locations in the world once you visited them.
I think the game isn't on TIGdb.
But it was on TIGS or indiegamer, or else I wouldn't have found it.
But I don't think I was able to find it with the platformer tag on TIGS, but that might be the failing of my search skills.

By "what does he do" I meant, like, does he shoot monsters, or just jump around or does he throw cubes or what.

I might be mixing stuff but I think the protagonist was a bit animalish.
no throwing blocks, I don't think enemies were killed by jumping, can't remember shooting elements but might be.
It was not a childish-looking game and it wasn't too easy.
It had a proper menu system.

No throwing blocks :D
And LICS came out way earlier, and does not have one continuous map, it has rooms.

I don't think it fits your description that well at all, but at least it features one huge map and teleporting: Exile II

How did you NOT find that game when you remembered its name exactly?

I didn't know that was the actual name, because that is also the name for some common maze game, and that's all I got when I googled it, so I thought I misremembered
