So I have been a part of my local Hip Hop scene for some time now, putting in work to make beats and share them with everyone. One thing I enjoy the most is when I come across beats from either anime or video games that I don't even need to do a thing with because they're just that good.

Now it would be easy to say games like THPS or Need For Speed Underground have great beats, but I'm not talking about repackaged goodies. I'm talking about "made for the game" beats. Such games like Tekken 3 or even Jet Set Radio Future (sort of). Though, I haven't played all that many games to have an extensive idea of what kind of gems are out there waiting to be unearthed.

So what are some of your favorite games that had Hip Hop style beats made just for them?

(can't answer your proper question because I don't know a single game with a beat like that)

Barring Jet Set Radio Future, the only other hip hop song I can remember is the Donkey Kong rap from one of the stages in Smash Bros. It's pretty cringeworthy.

Not sure if it counts, but the

from Barkley Gaiden is a good one.

Not an official soundtrack, per se, but Samurai Gunn goes reeeaally well with Wu-Tang Clan's “36 Chambers.”

Faster paced, but definitely using a drum break.

This will be an interesting thing to look for.

Not sure if it counts, but the Space Jam remix from Barkley Gaiden is a good one.
DK rap isn't ... that bad? Corny for sure, but works better for it's original use vs Smash Bros.

I actually commented on Samurai Gun's trailer a while back warning them that they should be careful about using any other musical artist's works. Though Hip Hop does suit that game very well.

Well not really Hip Hop, but I at least want to make mention of the

. Funk music, like James Brown kind of funk, goes hand in hand with Hip Hop.

Absolutely counts! A couple of months ago, I took a solid week looking up Japanese rappers to add to my music collection. I was able to find some very interesting artists, including someone who contributed to the rare "Mish-Mash Blues" episode of Cowboy Bebop.

DOUBLE BASS!! (Gameplay seperately)

Lots of earlier Dance Dance Revolution and beatmania songs fit the bill too; but they're predominantly "music games," so that's to be expected.
