Nope, that was a design decision, very much in-line with their philosophy towards the software.
I think it's either stated on their website, or it's mentioned in one of the videos.

Yeah, it's just like what I learned with piano improv. when you make a 'mistake' if you are willing you can use it to go on a completely new path that you weren't thinking about before. By not being able to 'fix' your mistake it forces you to be even more free flow.

That's pretty cool and all, and I'm sure I would learn a valuable life lesson, but I still prefer my CTRL+Z ... D:

Yeah, it is on their " Features" page, and now it is here: The Alchemy drawing canvas has an intentionally reduced level of functionality. No undo, no selecting, and no editing. Interaction focuses instead on the output of a great number of good, bad, strange and beautiful shapes.

Yeah, I really enjoy it not having and Undo functionality and I think it was a brilliant idea not to include it.

Yeah, it forces you to approach using the software in an entirely different way. Like drawing with a Sharpie.

When I first used it, I hated that it didn't have undo. It made it near worthless to me. But I forced myself to go on and you know what? I begin to wish more things didn't include it. When I mess up in Alchemy, I fix things manually by changing the color and drawing over it, often getting an entirely new shape that works even better than the old in the process. Sometimes I like the "messed up" part so much I clear the rest and start over, working around the new and unexpected shape.
It's definitely not for everyone, but I love the experience it provides. It's like no other.

I'm irritated with one thing: when I try to export a session to a PDF only the latest/current canvas is saved, not those I've saved as a session.

There's new version out (alpha 007). Though, I guess anyone else who already had the program would have gotten that announcement email, too.... they made a pretty good change to the color-selection interface which I think makes the download worth it http://al.chemy.org/download/

Hey, thanks for the update David! I actually signed up with my other email address that I rarely check for this, so I probably wouldn't have found out for awhile.
