>> WE JUST GOT GREENLIT ... IN ONLY 7 DAYS <<

Overview

Nantucket is a seafaring strategy game set in the golden age of American whaling. Explore the seven seas, manage your ship and crew, hunt whales and immerse in a living world, dealing with hundreds of unique events.
Unveil Ishmael’s destiny and chase Moby Dick to dissolve Ahab’s curse.

Nantucket is a Strategy game in development by Picaresque Studio for PC, will be released later this year.

Gameplay

Explore the Seven Seas

Set your course and explore the seven seas, looking for new Whaling Areas or completing Quests. Beware of adverse Weather Conditions and Pirates looking for your precious load. Visit Cities around the world, selling your Goods, looking for hands for hire or just fresh News.

Manage your Ship

Pick your Crew in Cities, choosing among the five classes available (Sailors, Hunters, Scientists, Craftsmen and Cabin Boy) and assign them tasks on your Ship. Improve your Ship technology, unlocking new Compartments, and manage your Resources.

Face Tough Decisions

Hundreds of Events will force you to take tough decisions, deeply affecting your game and shaping the Captain you want to be. Every gameplay element is tracked in order to push Events related to you current Crew or Ship status.

Hunt For Loot

Hunt Whales for loot, Legendary Whales for glory and repel boarding Pirates in a Board Game like Combat System based on Evolving Dices. Unlock new skills to help you win fights and complete Quests to get new special Items to use.

Chase the White Devil

Dispel Ahab’s curse and uncover Ishmael’s story, following a quest line that will make you discover more about Moby Dick, dealing with indigenous legends and characters from Herman Melville’s masterpiece.

Disclaimer

Nantucket is a work of fiction that portrays the Golden Age of American Whaling and its protagonists. It’s a project born around our passion for history and great literature, such as Herman Melville’s Moby Dick.
Picaresque Studio does not support illegal whaling and invites you all to be aware about the endangered species problems caused by industrial whaling. Check the the International Whaling Commission’s website for more information (https://iwc.int/home)

Stay Tuned

Later on we are going to record some gameplay to show more features of Nantucket.

We will go on detail about gameplay and the story behind Nantucket.

OH MAN.  Did you know that they took little boys on their journeys called "monkey boys" and they had to go inside the sperm whale's head and scoop out the last oil bits?

Whaling is cool!

Oh wow, I finished reading In The Heart of the Sea recently, so I'm in the mood for more stuff in that period. This looks awesome

Any plans for a Kickstarter/crowdfunding?

It's not in the plans, we are self funding the project and being few months from completion we won't look for any other source of funding.

Hi there,

The development of Nantucket is going full sail, we are close to have a full/playable/stable build and more than half of the content is in.

Here are GIFs to show the progress of Nantucket:

Very charming project. The choice menu reminds me of Crusader Kings. Hope everything goes smooth!
Since the game's Unity based...any chance for more localizations? I assume it'll release with a few European languages?

Thanks! We designed a big "Choose your own adventure" style Event system, we are aiming to put a thousand events in so ...

Yes, Crusader Kings was an inspiration for the events and ...

No, it will release english only, maybe after release.
