That octopus is super good! He's very menacing and grand.
Just FYI, it looks like you can see the gap between the octopus body and tentacles if you keep an eye on the spaces between the dark rocks, though it's probably very hard to notice if you aren't watching this on loop a bunch of times like I just was.

Gah, this is so good! You're really an incredible artist. I'm working on a nautical game right now- finding out that even simple water shaders are f-in HARD to get to look good. The colors you've got going on are gorgeous- the fade to the sunset works so well but it still keeps the crisp clarity in the scene.
Anyways, keep it up! Will keep watching your progress!

Thanks a lot for the compliment i feel your pain for the difficulty to render water... I went the easy way by choosing the stylized solution and i have no transparency which make a huge difference. Since i'm not using realtime lighting, i have total control over colors for every moments of the day. I'm using a gradient for the base color and one color for the rim light. cheers !

This is absolutely beautiful. I love it.
I don't really play app games, but this looks like something I'd like to play regularly on-the-go.
Keep up the good work! Will definitely pick up when it arrives!

(this is the thing i like less) - I spent a considerable amount of time tweaking the spawning of obstacles and miniboss. - implemented the save system. - i worked on the octopuss AI and animations. - i started a new mini boss : (still WIP) - I Added a new JumpPad gameplay (visual is WIP) :cheers! I really like when this guy gets spooked. How come your miniboss captain guy wears the exact same coloured coat as the player character? I think it might be more interesting if he was a different colour. I like his little swivel cannon seat he has, though it makes the unused cannon breeches in the sides of his ship look a little silly. Maybe add some more mechanical looking parts to his ship to make it look like he's this guy who made his ship very automated due to his physical disability (can't walk around a lot) and cantankerous nature (hard to find a crew that can stand him). Heh, also, I like the little floppy sail, but his ship seems to be going way faster than the motion of the sail would suggest so it looks a little off. I suggest making the sail look like it's being tugged tight by the wind more to match the ship's speed more. Either that or maybe give it some kind of propeller or water wheel type thing and have the sail just look vestigial.

Congrats on getting ready for launch! Your game looks wonderful! I love the technical breakdowns, (I also like to do them myself ). About the water ripple FX, have you thought about using a dist based on the word position of the character + a sin over time? I think it's worth testing the performance, since it seems you don't use that many vertices on the water, I don't think it would be too costly.

Thanks Juliano! Yeah, i thought about a water ripple shader... sounds costly... but this is the kind of effects that i really need to experiment soon! I checked your game and it looks really nice! Guybrush.
