Adding an arcade mode. Basically, in Arcade mode, there are no checkpoints and if you die, you get a Game Over. You also get a cumulative score between levels (as opposed to normal mode where you just have a level score). There will be a high score list (hopefully with an online leaderboard if I can figure out how to do it with the Steam API).

Getting Steam API stuff incorporated with the game so the game can have achievements and, more importantly, an online leaderboard for the Arcade Mode. It was a bit more complicated than I expected, and I still haven't finished, but I have officially managed to upload a score onto the Steam leaderboard I created, so that's a good start.

That's not really the sound I want to go for, but rest assured, the boss music in the game brings plenty of bombast (and, like, around 2/3rds of the bosses have unique boss themes). The levels (for the most part) have a similar surf-rock/prog-rock hybrid sound as the trailer music as I feel it fits the tone of the game.

Trying to get the bulk of the remaining work done in the next few days, so that I can relax for the holidays and not end up pushing against my deadline. Added in all the Steam Achievements today, as well as polished the game's controller support (although I think the game controls much better with mouse+keyboard). Tomorrow will mostly be tying up some lose ends in terms of UI, with the main task being creating an options screen. Then Wednesday I'm going to focus on doing another pass on any bosses that I feel still need work, then Thursday my focus will be going through all the small fixes that need to be done in each level.
