What is Rex Odyssey?

Rex Odyssey is a 2.5D and 3D platformer/adventure game in the vein of the old classics set in a colorful world with tons of characters and a lot of things to do.

The game is Influenced by classics like Mario Bros, Final Fantasy, Zelda, with a touch of the new wave of cartoons like Adventure Time, Regular Show, Gumball as well as Studio Ghibli films.

Imagine a level structure like Mario 64, but instead a castle you have a huge JRPG style world complete with enemy encounters and minigames.

Currently we are 3 members in the team, a Musician, thank god we have a programmer now and me doing the game design, modelling, art, etc.

Every feedback or suggestion about the game is greatly appreciated, it's been a lot of work and i will do my best to make a fun game.

Thanks! thats the idea, a fun and simple platformer, with some elements of playstation 1 jrpgs and N64 platformers, mixed with a lot of influences from old and new games/cartoons/etc.

The hub world looks really fun, how big is it? Is there more we haven't seen yet? I almost don't need the 2.5D parts. Is the game mostly done or are you looking to add a lot? It'd be cool to hear more about the jrpg parts of the game as well.

The Nintendo vibes are bumping, totally down with that, keep it up!

@Archgame, we are still prototyping the hub world, my intention is that need to be big, the real core of the game are the 2.5D levels, but the hub world will have minigames, platforming parts, secrets, enemies and fun stuff to do between levels or just to run around.
When i say jrpg elements, i mean the style of the world map, enemies battles arenas, summons, and that kind of game structure, but the game will be a pure platformer.

Some progress this monday on Skully animations (they are still WIP).

Hi! i've been working this week in Skully, it's not 100% finished but it's working in engine, so, thats good to prototype ideas and mechanics around him.
Here it is a quick video showcasing some rigging/skinning, animation loops and running in Unity as well (Click the image). Feedback is appreciated as always!
