I coded slow-motion effect to experiment it as an ability, but it changes the game concept a lot. I still wanted to use the code so I put it inside the Replay System,

now, Holding Left or Right now bends the time while watching a replay. Music and sound effects are also going slow or fast!

Finally I have the new spikes, old ones weren't very visible.

Waaay, better the new spikes!

Also like how the tilemaps are coming together! Looking forward to see this game get the hype and energy it deserves.  Gentleman  Hand Thumbs Up Right

Since I can't really afford new tilesets, I came up with an idea to have a level color setting in Level Editor, separate for each level to achieve the different looks as themes.

Here is an example with RGB(87,67,150):

Nice, glad you managed to solve it in the end! Btw - this is begging for some pretty environment light/particle effects like fireflies or torches Smiley

Here are two screenshots demonstrate the custom color theme for levels.

One of my friends is working on a level, it looks different and pretty. Gave me a lot of inspiration!

I really loved how he made it red using the color overlay.

What do you think?

I am now working on the vote system for Custom Levels.

The system I have in my mind is like,
  • Voting will be on Leaderboard screen which pops up when player finishes the level.
  • Player has to finish the level in order to vote.
  • 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 are the points player can give.
  • If player does not vote the level manually, it's voted 3 by default.

Looks interesting. Smiley

About the game title being too long: perhaps  Remnants of [...]  could work.
e.g.
Remnants of Nae
Remnants of Zith
Remnants of Zie
Remnants of Nar
etc

What if I use only "Naezith"? Is it a good idea?

This looks like an incredibly intense game.  I love it!  The mechanics are amazing!  I like how fast paced it is, makes you have to think quickly.

I think it would be an improvement.
By the way, does your hero has a name, now? Smiley

Kayra.

I have to make an ELO ranking system by the way but I couldn't figure out a cool and basic design.

I need opinions about the badge/rank spreading:

//// SCOREBOARD
guy#1 -> 2000
guy#2 -> 1800
guy#3 -> 500
guy#4 -> 200
guy#5 -> 0
guy#6 -> 0
guy#7 -> 0
guy#8 -> 0
guy#9 -> 0
guy#10 -> 0

//// SPREAD #1
2000 -> best score
10 -> badge count

2000 / 10 = 200 -> badge pool size

badge #1(2000-1801) = guy#1
badge #2(1800-1601) = guy#2
badge #3(1600-1401) = -
badge #4(1400-1201) = -
badge #5(1200-1001) = -
badge #6(1000-801) = -
badge #7(800-601) = -
badge #8(600-401) = guy#3
badge #9(400-201) = guy#4
badge #10(200-1) = guy#5, guy#6, guy#7, guy#8, guy#9, guy#10

//// SPREAD #2
Based on their rank on the sorted list

badge #1(%0-%10) = guy#1
badge #2(%10-%20) = guy#2
badge #3(%20-%30) = guy#3
badge #4(%30-%40) = guy#4
badge #5(%40-%50) = guy#5
badge #6(%50-%60) = guy#6
badge #7(%60-%70) = guy#7
badge #8(%70-%80) = guy#8
badge #9(%80-%90) = guy#9
badge #10(%90-%100) = guy#10

Which one is better? Slices are fixed %10 there but it can change like %1 %10 %20 %35 %60 %..

I think I am gonna go with the first one because I want people with same points to have the same rank.

There will be 10 ranks I guess, I need names for ranks,

  • Scout
  • Agile
  • Swift
  • Challenger
  • Descendant of Naezith

are the ones I came up with. They can be about speed since it's the main theme. Any ideas?

Is Letter ranking (F, E, D, C, B, A, S, X) or classic Diamond, Platinum, Gold... better than using names? What do you think?

EDIT: My current idea is to use the classic Diamond Platinium Gold system for big pools and Top10 or Top100 are named "Descendant of Naezith" which is very rare and special.
