10. Synaesthete - If they ever made DDR into an adventure game, it probably still wouldn't be like this game. This is quite possibly one of the most unique games ever created. It has smooth graphics, gameplay that will rock your face off, and one of the greatest techno soundtrakcs ever conceived.

9. Mr. Blocko - Who knew a game so simple could be so addicting? Jump and push (and avoid, of course). It is a great hotseat game for anyone looking for something addicting to play.

8. Knytt Stories - A simple platformer with so much to do! The level editor has so much in it, that anyone can create there own game that can last for hours! Time will not forget this game easily!

7. Immortal Defense - Tower Defense games are very unappreciated. This is a very interesting take on the genre, adding story and shooting elements! The levels get increasingly harder and if they get too hard, you can always adjust the difficulty!

6. Gish - I love platformers. I love physics games (but not physics class). I love Gish. This is a great game with unique platforming/physics elements! And it presents a great challenge!

5. Soldat - A fantastic multiplayer game! This is by far better than lots of online games on consoles. Customizeable controls, smooth graphics, and great graphics. What more could you want with the game? A level editor... that's there too!

4. Toribash - What would you think if someone said, "What if I made a strategy game mixed with a fighter?" Would you think "madman" or "genious"? Well the team that created this certainly went genious on this game. Incredibly in-depth and advanced.

3. World of Goo - I don't really know what to say about this game. It's fun, addicting, and unique. It's very lengthy for a downloadable game. One of the major parts about a good game is good music. And for this fantastic game, there was fantastic music! Definently iPod worthy!

2. Fraxy - One of my favorite genres besides platformers are shmups. This one was a little different. I love boss battles. They are some of the biggest highlights in a game for me. This one took the epicness to the next level by letting me (with a very epic imagination) make my own boss. It is amazing.

1.  Cave Story - I don't love this game just to be on the bandwagon. I'm a huge 2D Metroid fan. This game could easily be released on consoles and be rated as one of the best on its system. Great controols, great story, great graphics: this is the whole package!

I refuse to fall into the trap of making top 10 lists! It is a negative attribute of our society that we tend to categorize everything. We seem to have a need to have everything in a clear, organized fashion. NO. I will not do this. I love many indie games, and I will never rank them. Ever. EVER. Evil

QWOP == Mighty Jilloff >  Bilen son Hoppar == Jet Set Willy Online > Sexy Hiking

These are my favourite games because they are some of the few I find that can make me want to go back and play. A problem I have with a lot of games is that I'll start playing, I'll get really into it, but never pick it up again after a couple of sessions of playing. Even though I know it's fun and I guess I am slightly interested in what happens, I can never be bothered progressing through the game and I pick up something else.

These games, however, are ones that I'll just play whenever, even when I don't feel like playing games. Jet Set Willy is only when there are others on #tigIRC playing though (I'm always jumping at the opportunity though!).
