You get 4 drops a week (2 case, 2 weapons or skins). The more account the more drop.
1 account cost : 14,99 $US

1 key: ~3 $US  keys don't drop ingame.
if you're lucky you'll get a weapon worth + 30 $US

CS.go casino...

Seems a bit lame to go into CS:GO for the money, in my mind. I guess you can take it as a casino if that's your drift.. Or you can just..

Here's a successful 1min hostage extraction by my girlfriend and I. On the Operation Wildfire community map; Cruise.. This is perhaps one of my favorite maps in CS:GO..

I bet I could get a whole shiny dollar if I sold all of my gear.. But yea.. There's real money to collect in the game, that you can use on steam for indie games etc.. I think I have bought at least 2-3 small indie games for cards I collected in other games on steam. Counter strike gear is part of the biz, because you know.. Valve and all that. So, actually, support your local indie community by fraggin' in CS:GO now, and use the buckaroos on indie games.

I used to play this a lot a couple of years ago. It's a lot of fun in competitive when you queue in with a team of 5.

lol can you really sell counter strike skins for money

I never liked the skins or anything in the game and never equipped a single one. So I acquired a ton of those weapon crates and skins over the many games I played and just did nothing with them. My friends that I played with sold them all for like the 10 cents each that they were worth at the time. But I didn't care about any of that so I just held onto them. Then one day I was looking through and noticed that the original weapon cases were selling for $5 each on the market for some reason (I still can't figure out why anyone would pay actual money for these!) So I had about 30 of them and sold them all, and I "made" about $130. I use the word "made" in quotes because you can only use the money toward steam games, so in the end it's basically just having other people pay for steam games for me instead of actually making money.

I looked recently and some of the other cases and skins that I had are starting to be worth some money. I just sold a couple of the esports 2013 cases for $10 each! Now those sticker capsules (which was an idea that was somehow even cornier than the skins) are worth a couple of dollars each. I've got like 20 of those too.

So yeah hold on to your cases and they should be worth a good amount of money in like 5 years. Too bad you can't convert steam dollars to an IRA or this might have been a good retirement option!

Quote
US residents and citizens must provide information to Valve for compliance with IRS tax code in order to exceed the 200-sale limit. HOWEVER, Valve is not required to report your earnings to the IRS unless you also exceed $20,000 in annual sales. Non-US residents/citizens must simply fill out a form to confirm non-residency, as long as they have never used a US billing address.

Wasn't that the reason they applied this law?

example of Cs:go market :

-StatTrak™ Flip Knife | Crimson Web : april 27 sold for 391$

-StatTrak™ AWP | Lightning Strike : may 5 sold for 204$

I actually gave it benefit of the doubt, since I have seen lots of things get lost in translation from German before. Sorry tho.

I never knew what to do with those cases anyway, but now I do. Maybe I can buy GTA10 with them.

skins killed cs for me, nobody plays for fun anymore. everyone wants to turn a profit and talk about their dumb guns.
Not anyone I know. We just play the game really.

I also played 1.6, and it looked like the Dire Straits 80s video, money for nothing + it was flooded with script kiddies.. I don't miss it.

I know but I've heard that some of the drops sell for a lot of ca$h dollars.
Yes, but they are so rare that statistically you would be losing money trying to farm it. The drops that you get for just playing are pretty useless and the real cash prizes don't drop on playing. You have to buy the cases and the key to open them, what can be done with just a single account.

The most common use for smurfs is to play with low rank friends. Since the CS:GO matchmaking only allow to team up with people more or less around the same rank, if you're medium/high rank and want to play with a friend new to the game, you actually can't. Unless you team up on casual matches.

But also smurfs raises some eyebrows to hacking, scamming and whatnot. Just recently Valve created a new system, still in beta, that links the cs:go account to the phone number on the steam guard, to further prevent that stuff.

edit:
Well, now that i think about it. When a new Operation is released (the cs:go dlcs, in a way) the new cases sells for a good amount of cash during the first two to three days. Starting at like 20$ going down to 10$, 5$, 1$ and then cents (the community dictates the price). So i guess smurfs could try to cash out on that.
I myself never bought another cs:go account, but i have bought a lot of other games on steam just using cash i got with the cs:go drops. So i guess there's that too.

Yea, give it 15 years, and counter strike will be linked to your DNA, fingerprints and Iris. And kids with surround sound headsets will still be accused of wallhacking.

Well, you don't have to make the link. It is an optional feature anyway. But i can see a future where kids are still calling the hacks on you.
I'm gonna admit that sometimes i worry if there isn't the possibility to get an unjustified ban because of dumb reports and stupid overwatchers.

Not anno 2031.

Here's what I think of people speculating into getting rich on CS:GO..
